'Done' in the Bible
“The Lord has done this for me. He has looked with favor in these days to take away my disgrace among the people.”
“I am the Lord’s slave,” said Mary. “May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.
because the Mighty Onehas done great things for me,and His name is holy.
He has done a mighty deed with His arm;He has scattered the proudbecause of the thoughts of their hearts;
But Herod the tetrarch, being rebuked by him about Herodias, his brother’s wife, and about all the evil things Herod had done,
“Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.” And off he went, proclaiming throughout the town all that Jesus had done for him.
When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes!
“But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.
But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd, “There are six days when work should be done; therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”
“‘Master,’ the slave said, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there’s still room.’
In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, ‘We are good-for-nothing slaves; we’ve only done our duty.’”
“‘Well done, good slave!’ he told him. ‘Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, have authority over 10 towns.’
“Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me—nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Neither has Herod, because he sent Him back to us. Clearly, He has done nothing to deserve death.
A third time he said to them, “Why? What has this man done wrong? I have found in Him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore, I will have Him whipped and then release Him.”
We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”
