'Eyes' in the Bible
The boastful do not stand before your eyes. You hate all evildoers.
He sits in ambush in villages; in the hiding places he kills [the] innocent. His eyes {lurk} for [the] helpless.
Consider [and] answer me, O Yahweh my God. Give light to my eyes lest I sleep [the sleep of] death,
In his eyes a rejected one [is] contemptible, but he honors those who respect Yahweh. He takes an oath to [his own] injury and does not retract it.
Let my vindication come forth from you; let your eyes see fairness.
For you deliver humble people, but haughty eyes you humiliate.
The precepts of Yahweh [are] right, making [the] heart rejoice. The command of Yahweh [is] pure, enlightening [the] eyes.
My eyes [are] continually toward Yahweh, because he will take my feet from [the] net.
Because your loyal love [is] before my eyes, and I walk about in your faithfulness.
As for me, I said in my alarm, "I am cut off from before your eyes." However you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to you for help.
The eyes of Yahweh [are] toward [the] righteous, and his ears toward their cry for help.
They also made wide their mouths against me. They said, "Aha! Aha! Our eyes have seen [it]."
An oracle: the wicked has rebellion in the midst of his heart. There is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he flatters himself in his eyes, hating to detect his iniquity.
My heart throbs violently, my strength leaves me; and the light of my eyes, that also is not with me.
These [things] you have done, and I have been silent; You imagined that I was just like you. I will rebuke you and present [an argument] before your eyes.
Against you, only you, I have sinned and have done this evil in your eyes, so that you are correct when you speak, you are blameless when you judge.
[He] rules by his might forever; his eyes keep watch on the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
I am weary with my calling [out]; my throat is parched. My eyes are exhausted [in my] waiting for my God.
Let their eyes be dark so they cannot see, and make their loins continually tremble.
From oppression and from violence he will redeem their lives, and their blood will be precious in his eyes.
When I thought about [how] to understand this, it [was] troubling in my eyes
Why should the nations say, "Where [is] their God?" Let it be known among the nations before our eyes, [by] the avenging of the blood of your servants that was poured out.
For a thousand years in your eyes [are] like yesterday when it passes, or [like] a watch in the night.
You will only look with your eyes, and see [the] punishment of [the] wicked.
Yahweh has made known his salvation; to the eyes of the nations he has revealed his righteousness.
I will not set before my eyes any wicked thing. I hate the work of those who fall away; it will not cling to me.
One who slanders his neighbor in secret, him I will destroy. [One] haughty of eyes and {arrogant} of heart, him I will not endure.
My eyes [will be] on [the] faithful of [the] land, that [they may] live with me. [He who] walks in [the] way of integrity, he shall minister to me.
There will not live in the midst of my house a worker of deceit. One who speaks lies will not remain before my eyes.
They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
For you have rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
This is from Yahweh; it is wonderful in our eyes.
Uncover my eyes, that I may look at wonderful things from your law.
Turn away my eyes from looking at [what is] worthless; revive me in your ways.
My eyes long for your word, saying, "When will you comfort me?"
My eyes long for your salvation, and your righteous word.
Streams of water flow down [from] my eyes, because [people] do not heed your law.
My eyes anticipate [the] night watches, that [I may] meditate on your word.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains; whence will my help come?
I lift up my eyes to you, the one enthroned in the heavens.
Behold, as [the] eyes of servants [look] to the hand of their master, as [the] eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes [look] to Yahweh our God, until he is gracious to us.
My heart is not haughty nor my eyes {arrogant}. And I do not {concern myself} with things too great and difficult for me.
I will give no sleep to my eyes, [no] slumber to my eyelids,
They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
Your eyes saw my embryo, and in your book they all were written-- days fashioned [for me] when [there was] not one of them.
But my eyes [are] toward you, O Yahweh, my Lord; I have taken refuge in you. Do not lay bare my soul.
[The] eyes of all look hopefully to you, and you give them their food in due time,
Yahweh opens [the eyes of the] blind; Yahweh raises up [those] bowed down; Yahweh loves [the] righteous;
