'Flees' in the Bible
“But if there is a man who hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and rises up against him and strikes him so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,
“Like a flower he comes forth and withers.He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
Then it will be that he who flees the report of disaster will fall into the pit,And he who climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare;For the windows above are opened, and the foundations of the earth shake.
At the sound of the horseman and bowman every city flees;They go into the thickets and climb among the rocks;Every city is forsaken,And no man dwells in them.
“Stand by the road and keep watch,O inhabitant of Aroer;Ask him who flees and her who escapesAnd say, ‘What has happened?’
“The one who flees from the terrorWill fall into the pit,And the one who climbs up out of the pitWill be caught in the snare;For I shall bring upon her, even upon Moab,The year of their punishment,” declares the Lord.
As when a man flees from a lionAnd a bear meets him,Or goes home, leans his hand against the wallAnd a snake bites him.
He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep.
And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
