'Godliness' in the Bible

for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great:He was manifested in the flesh,vindicated in the Spirit,seen by angels,preached among the nations,believed on in the world,taken up in glory.

But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness,

forthe training of the body has a limited benefit,but godliness is beneficial in every way,since it holds promise for the present lifeand also for the life to come.

If anyone teaches other doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness,

and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain.

But godliness with contentment is a great gain.

But you, man of God, run from these things,and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith,love, endurance, and gentleness.
