'Listen' in the Bible

Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth;For the Lord speaks,“Sons I have reared and brought up,But they have revolted against Me.

“So when you spread out your hands in prayer,I will hide My eyes from you;Yes, even though you multiply prayers,I will not listen.Your hands are covered with blood.

Then he said, “Listen now, O house of David! Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well?

He who said to them, “Here is rest, give rest to the weary,”And, “Here is repose,” but they would not listen.

Give ear and hear my voice,Listen and hear my words.

For this is a rebellious people, false sons,Sons who refuse to listenTo the instruction of the Lord;

Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded,And the ears of those who hear will listen.

Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples!Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.

“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,A people in whose heart is My law;Do not fear the reproach of man,Nor be dismayed at their revilings.

Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices,They shout joyfully together;For they will see with their own eyesWhen the Lord restores Zion.

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread,And your wages for what does not satisfy?Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,And delight yourself in abundance.

“Incline your ear and come to Me.Listen, that you may live;And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

So I will choose their punishmentsAnd will bring on them what they dread.Because I called, but no one answered;I spoke, but they did not listen.And they did evil in My sightAnd chose that in which I did not delight.”
