'Power' in the Bible

They say, “Through our tongues we have power;our lips are our own—who can be our master?”

Deliver my life from the sword,my only life from the power of these dogs.

the voice of the Lord in power,the voice of the Lord in splendor.

The course of my life is in Your power;deliver me from the power of my enemiesand from my persecutors.

The horse is a false hope for safety;it provides no escape by its great power.

But God will redeem my lifefrom the power of Sheol,for He will take me.Selah

Do not kill them; otherwise, my people will forget.By Your power, make them homeless wanderersand bring them down,Lord, our shield.

They will be given over to the power of the sword;they will become the jackals’ prey.

You establish the mountains by Your power,robed with strength.

Ascribe power to God.His majesty is over Israel,His power among the clouds.

God, You are awe-inspiring in Your sanctuaries.The God of Israel gives power and strength to His people.May God be praised!

Even when I am old and gray,God, do not abandon me.Then I will proclaim Your powerto another generation,Your strength to all who are to come.

With power You redeemed Your people,the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.Selah

They did not remember His power shownon the day He redeemed them from the foe,

Let the groans of the prisoners reach You;according to Your great power,preserve those condemned to die.

before Ephraim,Benjamin, and Manasseh.Rally Your power and come to save us.

I will extend his power to the seaand his right hand to the rivers.

What man can live and never see death?Who can save himself from the power of Sheol?Selah

Who understands the power of Your anger?Your wrath matches the fear that is due You.

Yet He saved them because of His name,to make His power known.

Their enemies oppressed them,and they were subdued under their power.

He has shown His people the power of His worksby giving them the inheritance of the nations.

There are shouts of joy and victoryin the tents of the righteous:“The Lord’s right hand performs valiantly!

The Lord’s right hand is raised.The Lord’s right hand performs valiantly!”

They will proclaim the power of Your awe-inspiring acts,and I will declare Your greatness.

Our Lord is great, vast in power;His understanding is infinite.

He is not impressed by the strength of a horse;He does not value the power of a man.
