'Promise' in the Bible
Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it.
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself:
And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.
Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath,
For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.
Therefore, He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise.
