'Songs' in the Bible

Solomon composed 3,000 proverbs, and his songs numbered 1,005.

David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before God with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

I am a laughingstock to all my people,mocked by their songs all day long.

Yes, to them you are like a singer of love songs who has a beautiful voice and plays skillfully on an instrument. They hear your words, but they don’t obey them.

Take away from Me the noise of your songs!I will not listen to the music of your harps.

They improvise songs to the sound of the harpand invent their own musical instruments like David.

In that day the temple songs will become wailing”—this is the Lord God’s declaration. “Many dead bodies, thrown everywhere! Silence!”

I will turn your feasts into mourningand all your songs into lamentation;I will cause everyone to wear sackclothand every head to be shaved.I will make that grieflike mourning for an only sonand its outcome like a bitter day.

speaking to one anotherin psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,singing and making musicfrom your heart to the Lord,

Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.
