'Thine' in the Bible
‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes;You hate all who do iniquity.
But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house,At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.
For the choir director; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string lyre. A Psalm of David.O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
Arise, O Lord, in Your anger;Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries,And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.
From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strengthBecause of Your adversaries,To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear
Let my judgment come forth from Your presence;Let Your eyes look with equity.
I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God;Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.
I shall wash my hands in innocence,And I will go about Your altar, O Lord,
Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.
Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;Be to me a rock of strength,A stronghold to save me.
As for me, I said in my alarm,“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplicationsWhen I cried to You.
For Your arrows have sunk deep into me,And Your hand has pressed down on me.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation;There is no health in my bones because of my sin.
You with Your own hand drove out the nations;Then You planted them;You afflicted the peoples,Then You spread them abroad.
For by their own sword they did not possess the land,And their own arm did not save them,But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence,For You favored them.
Your arrows are sharp;The peoples fall under You;Your arrows are in the heart of the King’s enemies.
Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices,In burnt offering and whole burnt offering;Then young bulls will be offered on Your altar.
And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord,For You recompense a man according to his work.
Say to God, “How awesome are Your works!Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You.
You shed abroad a plentiful rain, O God;You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched.
Pour out Your indignation on them,And may Your burning anger overtake them.
In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;Incline Your ear to me and save me.
I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord God;I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.
May he judge Your people with righteousnessAnd Your afflicted with justice.
A Maskil of Asaph.O God, why have You rejected us forever?Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?
Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old,Which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your inheritance;And this Mount Zion, where You have dwelt.
Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting place;They have set up their own standards for signs.
Yours is the day, Yours also is the night;You have prepared the light and the sun.
Do not deliver the soul of Your turtledove to the wild beast;Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.
Arise, O God, and plead Your own cause;Remember how the foolish man reproaches You all day long.
Do not forget the voice of Your adversaries,The uproar of those who rise against You which ascends continually.
A Psalm of Asaph.O God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance;They have defiled Your holy temple;They have laid Jerusalem in ruins.
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar,And those who hate You have exalted themselves.
The bird also has found a house,And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,My King and my God.
Behold our shield, O God,And look upon the face of Your anointed.
Restore us, O God of our salvation,And cause Your indignation toward us to cease.
Will You be angry with us forever?Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
A Prayer of David.Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me;For I am afflicted and needy.
There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord,Nor are there any works like Yours.
Let my prayer come before You;Incline Your ear to my cry!
You Yourself crushed Rahab like one who is slain;You scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.
The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours;The world and all it contains, You have founded them.
But You have cast off and rejected,You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.
With which Your enemies have reproached, O Lord,With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.
For we have been consumed by Your angerAnd by Your wrath we have been dismayed.
Who understands the power of Your angerAnd Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?
For, behold, Your enemies, O Lord,For, behold, Your enemies will perish;All who do iniquity will be scattered.
Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress;Incline Your ear to me;In the day when I call answer me quickly.
Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,For You have lifted me up and cast me away.
That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones,That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,That I may glory with Your inheritance.
Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders;They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses,But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.
A Psalm of David.The Lord says to my Lord:“Sit at My right handUntil I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying,“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
My soul is crushed with longingAfter Your ordinances at all times.
I have chosen the faithful way;I have placed Your ordinances before me.
Turn away my reproach which I dread,For Your ordinances are good.
And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,For I wait for Your ordinances.
I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O Lord,And comfort myself.
They stand this day according to Your ordinances,For all things are Your servants.
I am Yours, save me;For I have sought Your precepts.
I have not turned aside from Your ordinances,For You Yourself have taught me.
O accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord,And teach me Your ordinances.
Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness;Revive me, O Lord, according to Your ordinances.
Great are Your mercies, O Lord;Revive me according to Your ordinances.
Let my soul live that it may praise You,And let Your ordinances help me.
Lord, hear my voice!Let Your ears be attentiveTo the voice of my supplications.
For the sake of David Your servant,Do not turn away the face of Your anointed.
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;And in Your book were all writtenThe days that were ordained for me,When as yet there was not one of them.
For they speak against You wickedly,And Your enemies take Your name in vain.
Flash forth lightning and scatter them;Send out Your arrows and confuse them.
Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts,And I will tell of Your greatness.
They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodnessAnd will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.
