'Told' in the Bible
They told Aaron:Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what’s happened to him.
But Peter told him, “May your silver be destroyed with you, because you thought the gift of God could be obtained with money!
The Spirit told Philip, “Go and join that chariot.”
“But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Looking intently at him, he became afraid and said, “What is it, lord?”The angel told him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have come up as a memorial offering before God.
While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him, “Three men are here looking for you.
Then the Spirit told me to accompany them with no doubts at all. These six brothers accompanied me, and we went into the man’s house.
“Get dressed,” the angel told him, “and put on your sandals.” And he did so. “Wrap your cloak around you,” he told him, “and follow me.”
“You’re crazy!” they told her. But she kept insisting that it was true. Then they said, “It’s his angel!”
But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook his robe and told them, “Your blood is on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”“No,” they told him, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
But they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, by telling them not to circumcise their children or to walk in our customs.
Take these men, purify yourself along with them, and pay for them to get their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that what they were told about you amounts to nothing, but that you yourself are also careful about observing the law.
“Then I said, ‘What should I do, Lord?’“And the Lord told me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told about everything that is assigned for you to do.’
and told them, “Men, I can see that this voyage is headed toward damage and heavy loss, not only of the cargo and the ship but also of our lives.”
Therefore, take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me.
