'Yourself' in the Bible
My child, do not go down their way, withhold yourself from their path;
Don’t consider yourself to be wise;fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Remove from yourself {deceitful speech}, and abolish {devious talk} from yourself.
Do not turn to the right or to the left; turn yourself away from evil.
Keep yourself far from her, and do not go near the door of her house,
Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you.
Why let yourself, my son, go out of the way with a strange woman, and take another woman in your arms?
My child, if you have pledged to your neighbor, [if] you have bound {yourself} to the stranger,
Do this, then, my son, and free yourself,for you have put yourself in your neighbor’s power:Go, humble yourself, and plead with your neighbor.
Don't allow yourself to sleep or even to close your eyes.
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a hunter's hand, or like a bird from a fowler's hand.
[In order] to guard yourself from {an adulteress}, from the foreigner who {makes her words smooth}.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.
Discipline and teach your son while there is hope,And do not [indulge your anger or resentment by imposing inappropriate punishment nor] desire his destruction.
or you will learn his waysand entangle yourself in a snare.
Don’t wear yourself out to get rich;stop giving your attention to it.
Apply yourself to disciplineand listen to words of knowledge.
Never let yourself envy sinners; instead, remain in fear of the LORD every day,
Listen, my son, and be wise, commit yourself to live God's way.
Get for yourself that which is true, and do not let it go for money; get wisdom and teaching and good sense.
For with wise guidance you shall make war for yourself, and victory [is] in an abundance of counsel.
Don't rejoice when your enemy falls; don't let yourself be glad when he stumbles.
Don't fret yourself because of evildoers; neither be envious of the wicked:
First do your outside work, preparing your land for yourself. After that, build your house.
Don’t brag about yourself before the king,and don’t stand in the place of the great;
Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishnessor you’ll be like him yourself.
Do not boast about tomorrow,For you do not know what a day may bring.
If you have been foolish by exalting yourselfor if you’ve been scheming,put your hand over your mouth.
