and her two sons, of whom one was named Gershom, for Moses said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.”
Then she gave birth to a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.”
At this remark, Moses fled and became an alien in the land of Midian , where he became the father of two sons.
So Moses took his wife and his sons and mounted them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. Moses also took the staff of God in his hand.
“Hear my prayer, O Lord , and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner like all my fathers.
All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.
