Then the woman whose child was the living one spoke to the king, for

she was deeply stirred over her son and said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him!”

“Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a delightful child?
Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him,
I certainly still remember him;
Therefore My

heart yearns for him;

I will surely have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

How can I give you up, O Ephraim?

How can I surrender you, O Israel?
How can I make you like Admah?
How can I treat you like Zeboiim?
My heart is turned over within Me,

All My compassions are kindled.

For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any

affection and compassion,

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and

patience;

But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

He turned away from them and wept. But when he returned to them and spoke to them, he took Simeon from them and bound him before their eyes.

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and

was troubled,

serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;

longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy.
