'Jesus Said' in the Bible
Then he brought him to Jesus. Fixing his eyes on him, Jesus said: "You are Simon, the son of John; you shall be called Kephas" (which means 'Peter,' or 'Rock').
Jesus said to the servants: "Fill the water-jars with water;"
A woman of Samaria came to draw water; and Jesus said to her- - "Give me some to drink,"
"I am he," Jesus said to her, "I who am speaking to you."
The man believed what Jesus said to him, and went;
Looking up, and noticing that a great crowd was coming towards him, Jesus said to Philip: "Where are we to buy bread for these people to eat?"
When they were satisfied, Jesus said to his disciples: "Collect the broken pieces that are left, so that nothing may be wasted."
But Jesus said to them: "It is I; do not be afraid!"
"I am the Life-giving Bread," Jesus said to them; "he that comes to me shall never be hungry, and he that believes in me shall never thirst again.
All this Jesus said in a Synagogue, when he was teaching in Capernaum.
So Jesus said to the Twelve: "Do you also wish to leave me?"
So, in reply, Jesus said: "My teaching is not my own; it is his who sent me.
On which Jesus said: "I shall be with you but a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.
And seeing this, Jesus said: "I have done before your eyes many good actions, inspired by the Father; for which of them would you stone me?"
And it was then, after he had received it, that Satan took possession of him. So Jesus said to him: "Do at once what you are going to do."
When Judas had gone out, Jesus said: "Now the Son of Man has been exalted, and God has been exalted through him;
When Jesus said 'I am he,' they drew back and fell to the ground.
But Jesus said to Peter: "Sheathe your sword. Shall I not drink the cup which the Father has given me?"
When Jesus said this, one of the police-officers, who was standing near, gave him a blow with his hand. "Do you answer the High Priest like that?" he exclaimed.
Afterwards, knowing that everything was now finished, Jesus said, in fulfillment of the words of Scripture: "I am thirsty."
"Do not hold me," Jesus said; "for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my Brothers, and tell them that I am ascending to him who is my Father and their Father, my God and their God."
Again Jesus said to them: "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me as his Messenger, so I am sending you."
And Jesus said to them: "Come and breakfast." Not one of the disciples ventured to ask him who he was, knowing that it was the Master.
When breakfast was over, Jesus said to Simon Peter: "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than the others?" "Yes, Master," he answered, "you know that I am your friend." "Feed my lambs," said Jesus.
The third time, Jesus said to him: "Simon, son of John, are you my friend?" Peter was hurt at his third question being 'Are you my friend?'; and exclaimed: "Master, you know everything! You can tell that I am your friend." "Feed my sheep," said Jesus.
Jesus said this to show the death by which Peter was to honor God, and then he added: "Follow me."
