'Enemies' in the Bible

Yahweh, how many are my enemies; many [are] rising against me.

Rise up, O Yahweh; deliver me, O my God; for you strike all my enemies [on the] cheek. [The] teeth of [the] wicked you break.

O Yahweh, lead me in your righteousness because of my enemies; make straight before me your way.

All my enemies shall be ashamed and shall be very terrified. They shall turn back; they shall suddenly be ashamed.

From the mouth of children and infants you have founded strength on account of your enemies, to silence [the] enemy and [the] avenger.

When my enemies turn back, they will stumble and perish because of your presence.

The enemies are destroyed [in] ruins forever, and you have uprooted [their] cities; their very memory has perished.

His ways endure at all times. Your judgments are aloof from him. [As for] all his enemies, he scoffs at them.

[and] lest my enemy should say, "I have overcome him," [lest] my enemies rejoice because I am shaken.

from [the] {presence} of [the] wicked who destroy me, [those] enemies against my life, [they that] surround me.

I called upon Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised, and I was saved from my enemies.

I chased my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back until they were finished [off].

And you {made my enemies turn their backs}, then I destroyed those [who] hated me.

who delivered me from my enemies. Indeed, you exalted me higher than [those who] rose against me. You delivered me from the man of violence.

Your hand will find all your enemies; your right hand will find those who hate you.

O my God, I trust you; let me not be put to shame. Do not let my enemies exult over me.

Consider that my enemies are many, and they hate me [with] violent hatred.

When evildoers drew near against me to eat my flesh-- my adversaries and my enemies [who drew near] to me-- they themselves stumbled and fell.

And now my head will be high over my enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.

Teach me, O Yahweh, your way, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.

Do not give me over to the desire of my enemies, because false witnesses have arisen against me, and [each] breathing out violence.

I will exalt you, O Yahweh, because you have drawn me up, and have not made my enemies rejoice over me.

My times [are] in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from [those who] pursue me.

Let not those who [are] wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me. [Nor let] those who hate me without cause wink [the] eye.

But [the] wicked will perish, and the enemies of Yahweh [will be] like [the] splendor of [the] pastures. They vanish; in smoke they vanish.

And my enemies without cause are numerous, and those who hate me wrongfully are many.

Yahweh protects him and keeps him alive; he is blessed in the land, and you do not give him into the will of his enemies.

My enemies speak evil about me, "When will he die and his name perish?"

By you we push down our enemies; by your name we tread down those who rise up against us.

Rather you have saved us from our enemies, and have humiliated those who hate us.

Your arrows [are] sharp; peoples fall under you in the midst of the king's enemies.

He will repay my enemies for their evil; in your faithfulness destroy them.

Because he has delivered me from all trouble, and my eye has looked [with satisfaction] on my enemies.

My enemies trample all day, because many [are] attacking me proudly.

Then my enemies will turn back {when} I call. This I know because God [is] for me.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God. Protect me from those who rise up against me.

My God of loyal love will meet me; God will cause me to look [in triumph] on my enemies.

Through God we will do {valiantly}, and [it is] he [who] will tread down our enemies.

Say to God, "How awesome are your works! Because of the greatness of your strength, your enemies will cringe before you.

God will arise; his enemies will be scattered, and those who hate him will flee from before him.

But God will shatter the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp [of the one who] {continues on} in his guilt.

so that your foot may shatter [them] bloody [for] the tongues of your dogs [to have] their share from [the] enemies."

More numerous than the hairs of my head are [those] hating me without a cause. [Those who are] destroying me--my enemies wrongfully-- are mighty. What I did not steal, I then must restore.

Draw near to my soul; redeem it. Because of my enemies, ransom me.

For my enemies talk concerning me, and those who watch for my life conspire together,

Let [the] desert dwellers bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust.

Your enemies have roared in the midst of your meeting place; they have set up their signs [for] signs.

And he led them safely and they were not afraid, but the sea covered their enemies.

And he beat back his enemies; he gave them over to perpetual scorn.

You have made us [an object of] strife to our neighbors, and our enemies mock among themselves.

I would subdue their enemies quickly, and turn my hand against their adversaries.

For look, your enemies roar, and those who hate you have lifted [their] head.

{You yourself crushed} Rahab like one [who is] slain; you scattered your enemies with your strong arm.

You have raised the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all his enemies rejoice.

[by] which your enemies taunt, O Yahweh, [by] which they taunt the steps of your anointed one.

For behold, your enemies, O Yahweh, for behold, your enemies will perish. All [the] workers of evil will be scattered.

And [so] my eye looks on my enemies. My ears hear those evildoers who rise up against me.

Fire goes before him, and devours his enemies round about.

All the day my enemies reproach me; those who mock me swear [oaths] against me.

And he made his people very fruitful. He also made them stronger than their enemies.

And their enemies oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand.

Through God we will do valiantly, and [it is] he [who] will tread down our enemies.

A declaration of Yahweh to my lord, "Sit at my right [hand] until I make your enemies your footstool."

Yahweh will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies.

His heart [is] sustained; he will not be afraid, until he looks [in triumph] on his enemies.

Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they [are] ever with me.

My zeal consumes me, because my enemies have forgotten your words.

My persecutors and enemies [are] many, [yet] I do not turn aside from your testimonies.

Blessed [is] the man who fills his quiver with them. They shall not be put to shame when they speak with enemies at the gate.

I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on him his crown will flourish."

And he rescued us from our enemies, for his loyal love [endures] forever.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me alive. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my enemies, and you save me [with] your right hand.

who speak against you deceitfully. Your enemies take [your name] in vain.

I hate them with a complete hatred; they have become my enemies.

Deliver me from my enemies, O Yahweh. I take refuge in you.

And in your loyal love destroy my enemies, and exterminate all [the] adversaries of my soul, for I [am] your servant.
