'Guilt' in the Bible
And why do you not pardon my transgression and take away my guilt? For now I shall lie in the dust, and you will seek me, but {I will be no more}."
That You should seek for my guiltAnd search after my sin?
If I sin, then You would take note of me,And would not acquit me of my guilt.
“Shall a multitude of words not be answered? And should a talkative man [making such a long-winded defense] be acquitted?
And [that He would] show you the secrets of wisdom! For sound wisdom has two sides.Know therefore that God forgets a part of your wickedness and guilt.
My transgression would be sealed in a bag, and you would cover over my guilt.
“For your guilt teaches your mouth,And you choose the language of the crafty.
“He does not believe that he will return out of the darkness [for fear of being murdered],And he is destined for the sword [of God’s vengeance].
Although there is no violence or wrongdoing in my hands,And my prayer is pure.
[The] heavens will reveal his guilt, and [the] earth will rise up against him.
“If my step has turned away from the way [of God],Or if my heart has [covetously] followed my eyes,Or if any spot [of guilt] has stained my hands,
Have I covered my transgressions as others doby hiding my guilt in my heart,
“I am pure, without transgression;I am clean and have no guilt.
