'Happier' in the Bible
You make me happier than those who have abundant grain and wine.
So I commended the dead who had already died as being happier than the living who are still alive.
Yes, happier than the dead or the living seemed he who has not ever been, who has not seen the evil which is done under the sun.
The slain with the sword are happier than the slain with hunger; for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’”
But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
and not only by his arrival but also by the comfort he had received from you. He told us about your longing for me, your sorrow, and your eagerness to take my side, and this made me even happier.
But we, even while we speak in this tone, have a happier conviction concerning you, my dearly-loved friends--a conviction of things which point towards salvation.
