'Lord' in the Bible
He said, "I [am] 'the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, "Make straight the way of the Lord," ' just as Isaiah the prophet said."
Other boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread [after] the Lord had given thanks.
Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
And she said, "No one, Lord." So Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more."]]
And he said, "I believe, Lord!" and he worshiped him.
(Now it was Mary who anointed the Lord with perfumed oil and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
So the sisters sent [word] to him, saying, "Lord, behold, [the one] whom you love is sick."
So the disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well."
So Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
She said to him, "Yes, Lord, I have believed that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who comes into the world."
Then Mary, when she came where Jesus was [and] saw him, fell at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died."
And he said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to him, "Lord, come and see."
Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of the one who had died, said to him, "Lord, he is stinking already, because it has been four days."
took the branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, and began crying out, "Hosanna! Blessed [is] the one who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel!"
in order that the word of the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said, "Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"
Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"
Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head!"
You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and you speak correctly, for I am.
If then I--[your] Lord and Teacher--wash your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
He leaned back accordingly against Jesus' chest [and] said to him, "Lord, who is it?"
Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow later."
Peter said to him, "Lord, why am I not able to follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!"
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How are we able to know the way?"
Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us."
Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, why is it that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
So she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord from the tomb and we do not know where they have put him!"
And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have put him!"
Mary Magdalene came [and] announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and he had said these [things] to her.
And [when he] had said this, he showed [his] hands and [his] side to them. Then the disciples rejoiced [when they] saw the Lord.
So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe!"
Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" So Simon Peter, [when he] heard that it was the Lord, tied around himself his outer garment (for he was naked) and threw himself into the sea.
Jesus said to them, "Come, eat breakfast!" But none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" [because they] knew that it was the Lord.
Now when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon [son] of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs!"
He said to him again a second time, "Simon [son] of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Shepherd my sheep!"
He said to him a third [time], "Simon [son] of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed because he said to him a third [time], "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything! You know that I love you!" Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep!
Peter turned [and] saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following [them] (who also leaned back on his chest at the dinner and said, "Lord, who is the one betraying you?")
