'Man' in the Bible
He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, and a treacherous man in the stead of the upright.
There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.
All the day the sinner goes after his desire: but the upright man gives freely, keeping nothing back.
A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
The man of wealth and the poor man come face to face: the Lord is the maker of them all.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
The man of wealth has rule over the poor, and he who gets into debt is a servant to his creditor.
By planting the seed of evil a man will get in the grain of sorrow, and the rod of his wrath will be broken.
Send away the man of pride, and argument will go out; truly fighting and shame will come to an end.
The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge,But He overthrows the words of the treacherous man.
The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
The mouth of the forbidden woman is a deep pit;a man cursed by the Lord will fall into it.
He who is cruel to the poor for the purpose of increasing his profit, and he who gives to the man of wealth, will only come to be in need.
Don’t rob a poor man because he is poor,and don’t crush the oppressed at the gate,
Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
Do not eat the bread of a selfish man,Or desire his delicacies;
Speak not in the ears of a foolish man, for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
The father of a righteous man shall greatly rejoice, and he that begetteth a wise son shall have joy of him:
A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
He whose purposes are bad will be named a man of evil designs.
The thought of folly is sin, And an abomination to man is a scorner.
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Like a nose-ring of gold and an ornament of the best gold, is a wise man who says sharp words to an ear ready to give attention.
The man who boasts about a gift that does not existis like clouds and wind without rain.
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
A man who does not control his temperis like a city whose wall is broken down. >
Do not give to the foolish man a foolish answer, or you will be like him.
Give a foolish man a foolish answer, or he will seem wise to himself.
He who sends news by the hand of a foolish man is cutting off his feet and drinking in damage.
Like the legs which are useless to the lame,So is a proverb in the mouth of a fool [who cannot learn from its wisdom].
Giving honour to a foolish man is like attempting to keep a stone fixed in a cord.
Like a thorn that goes [without being felt] into the hand of a drunken man,So is a proverb in the mouth of a fool [who remains unaffected by its wisdom].
Like an archer wounding all who go by, is a foolish man overcome by drink.
Like a dog going back to the food which he has not been able to keep down, is the foolish man doing his foolish acts over again.
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

As the door turns on its hinges,So does the lazy person on his bed [never getting out of it].
As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart.
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
A sated man loathes honey,But to a famished man any bitter thing is sweet.
As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man's friend that cometh of hearty counsel.

Take a man's clothing if he makes himself responsible for a strange man, and get an undertaking from him who gives his word for strange men.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.

Better a poor man who lives with integritythan a rich man who distorts right and wrong.

He who turns his ear away from listening to the law [of God and man],Even his prayer is repulsive [to God].

To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
A greedy man is in a hurry for wealth;he doesn’t know that poverty will come to him.
He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
The one who robs his father or motherand says, “That’s no sin,”is a companion to a man who destroys.
An arrogant man stirs up dissension, but anyone who trusts in the LORD prospers.
In the rising of the wicked a man is hidden, And in their destruction the righteous multiply!
After many rebukes, the stiff-necked man will be broken incurably, without any warning.
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,But when a wicked man rules, people groan.
A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,but one who consorts with prostitutes destroys his wealth.
By justice a king brings stability to a land,but a man who demands “contributions”demolishes it.
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
The righteous man cares for the rights of the poor,But the wicked man has no interest in such knowledge.
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
The bloodthirsty hate the blameless [because of his integrity],But the upright are concerned for his life.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained;But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
