'Others' in the Bible
So whoever sets aside one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom from heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom from heaven
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
"For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.
"Whenever you fast, don't be gloomy like the hypocrites, because they put on sad faces to show others they are fasting. I tell all of you with certainty, they have their full reward!
so that your fasting will not be noticed by others but by your Father who is in the hidden place. And your Father who watches from the hidden place will reward you."
“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly].
because the way that you judge others will be the way that you will be judged, and you will be evaluated by the standard with which you evaluate others.
Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.
For John came neither eating nor drinking [with others], and they say, ‘He has a demon!’
The Son of Man came eating and drinking [with others], and they say, ‘Look! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners [including non-observant Jews]!’ Yet wisdom is justified and vindicated by her deeds [in the lives of those who respond to Me].”
Others fell on rocky ground, where there wasn’t much soil, and they sprang up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep.
Others fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them.
Still others fell on good ground and produced a crop: some 100, some 60, and some 30 times what was sown.
The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes others to sin and those who practice lawlessness
And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Peter answered, “Yes.” And when he came home, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly rulers collect duties or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
"From others," he replied. "Then the children go free," said Jesus.
Just then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who ranks higher than others in the Kingdom of the Heavens?"
Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this young child, he it is who is superior to others in the Kingdom of the Heavens.
But if he doesn't listen, take one or two others with you so that "every word may be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
because some men are celibate from birth, while some are celibate because they have been made that way by others. Still others are celibate because they have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom from heaven. Let anyone accept this who can."
And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
And he said to them, Go into the vine-garden with the others, and whatever is right I will give you. And they went to work.
And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
He told them, "You will indeed drink from my cup. But it's not up to me to grant you a seat at my right hand or at my left. These positions have already been prepared for others by my Father."
And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
And the others seized his slaves, treated them outrageously and killed them.
Therefore do and observe everything that they tell you, but do not do as {they do}, for they tell [others to do something] and do not do [it themselves].
They do everything to be observed by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others.
Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?"
"Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others their food at the right time?
In like manner also he that had received the two, he also gained two others.
Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
But the others kept saying, "Wait! Let's see if Elijah will come and save him."
And Simon and the others searched everywhere for Him.
Others fell on stony ground, where they didn't have a lot of soil. They sprouted at once, because the soil wasn't deep.
Others fell among thorn bushes, and the thorn bushes came up and choked them out, and they didn't produce anything.
Still others fell on good ground and produced a crop that increased 30, 60, and 100 times what was sown.”
When He was alone, the Twelve and the others who were about Him requested Him to explain His figurative language.
"To you," He replied, "has been entrusted the secret truth concerning the Kingdom of God; but to those others outside your number all this is spoken in figurative language;
And he said to them, If you are not clear about this story, how will you be clear about the others?
Others are like the seeds sown on the stony ground. When they hear the word, at once they joyfully accept it,
Others are sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word,
Others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, accept it, and produce crops 30, 60, or 100 times what was sown."
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
Now Jesus and his disciples had been on the road going up to Jerusalem, with Jesus walking ahead of them. They were astonished, and the others who followed were afraid.
Jesus told them, "You will drink from the cup that I'm going to drink and be baptized with the baptism with which I'm going to be baptized. But it's not up to me to grant you a seat at my right or my left. Those positions have already been prepared for others."
For the Son of Man also did not come to be waited upon, but to wait on others, and to give His life as the redemption-price for a multitude of people."
And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
He called his disciples and said to them, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others.
He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite to the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew, apart from the others asked Him,
But Peter said to him, Though the others may be turned away from you, I will not.
But Peter kept saying emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I'll never deny you!" And all the others kept saying the same thing.
"I am," replied Jesus, "and you and others will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the divine Power, and coming amid the clouds of the sky."
Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him and ministered to him; and many others who came up with him to Jerusalem.
They went back and told the others, who didn't believe them, either.
"Let the man who has two coats," he answered, "give one to the man who has none; and let the man who has food share it with others."
And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.
The others were furious and began to discuss with each other what they could do to Jesus.
Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them.
Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged: do not give punishment to others, and you will not get punishment yourselves: make others free, and you will be made free:
Give, and it will be given to you. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your lap, because you'll be evaluated by the same standard with which you evaluate others."
All were awe-struck, and they gave glory to God--some saying, "A Prophet, a great Prophet, has risen up among us." Others said, "God has not forgotten His People."
At that time, he made a number of people free from their diseases and their pains, and from evil spirits; and to others who were blind he gave back the use of their eyes.
And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
Others fell on stony ground, and as soon as they came up, they dried up because they had no moisture.
Others fell among thorn bushes, and the thorn bushes grew with them and choked them.
But others fell on good soil, and when they came up, they produced 100 times as much as was planted." As he said this, he called out, "Let the person who has ears to hear, listen!"
And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
Now Peter and the others were weighed down with sleep; but, keeping themselves awake all through, they saw His glory, and the two men standing with Him.
An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest [surpassing the others in esteem and authority].
After this, the Lord appointed 70 others, and He sent them ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place where He Himself was about to go.
And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
“But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.
That is why the Wisdom of God said, "I will send them prophets and apostles. They will kill some of them and persecute others,'
Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower in Siloam fell on them, do you think they were worse offenders than all the others who live in Jerusalem?
But when you come, go and take the lowest seat, so that when the giver of the feast comes, he may say to you, Friend, come up higher; and then you will have honour in the eyes of all the others who are there.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled [before others], and he who habitually humbles himself (keeps a realistic self-view) will be exalted.”
And He told them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
And he said to the others who were near, Take the pound away from him, and give it to the man who has ten.
He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
who swallow up the property of widows and mask their wickedness by making long prayers. They will be punished far more severely than others."
because all the others contributed to the offering out of their surplus, but she, in her poverty, dropped in everything she had to live on."
For which is the greater--he who sits at table, or he who waits on him? Is it not he who sits at table? But my position among you is that of one who waits on others.
Two others—criminals—were also led away to be executed with Him.
And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
(he had not consented to the Council’s plan and action) a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for and expecting the kingdom of God;
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
They returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven disciples and all the others.
