Then Rabshakeh said to them, “Say now to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, “What is this confidence that you have?

Thus says the king, ‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you;

Do not listen to Hezekiah,’ for thus says the king of Assyria, ‘Make your peace with me and come out to me, and eat each of his vine and each of his fig tree and drink each of the waters of his own cistern,

They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of distress, rebuke and rejection; for children have come to birth, and there is no strength to deliver.

Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

“Therefore, thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city or shoot an arrow there; and he will not come before it with a shield, or throw up a siege ramp against it.

In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’”

“Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house and all that your fathers have laid up in store to this day will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord.

A voice says, “Call out.”Then he answered, “What shall I call out?”All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

“To whom then will you liken MeThat I would be his equal?” says the Holy One.

“Present your case,” the Lord says.“Bring forward your strong arguments,”The King of Jacob says.

Thus says God the Lord,Who created the heavens and stretched them out,Who spread out the earth and its offspring,Who gives breath to the people on itAnd spirit to those who walk in it,

Thus says the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,“For your sake I have sent to Babylon,And will bring them all down as fugitives,Even the Chaldeans, into the ships in which they rejoice.

Thus says the Lord,Who makes a way through the seaAnd a path through the mighty waters,

Thus says the Lord who made youAnd formed you from the womb, who will help you,‘Do not fear, O Jacob My servant;And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen.

Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire.”

But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image. He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god.”

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,“I, the Lord, am the maker of all things,Stretching out the heavens by MyselfAnd spreading out the earth all alone,

Confirming the word of His servantAnd performing the purpose of His messengers.It is I who says of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be inhabited!’And of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built.’And I will raise up her ruins again.

“It is I who says to the depth of the sea, ‘Be dried up!’And I will make your rivers dry.

“It is I who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd!And he will perform all My desire.’And he declares of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built,’And of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be laid.’”

“Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you begetting?’Or to a woman, ‘To what are you giving birth?’”

Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:“Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons,And you shall commit to Me the work of My hands.

“I have aroused him in righteousnessAnd I will make all his ways smooth;He will build My city and will let My exiles go free,Without any payment or reward,” says the Lord of hosts.

Thus says the Lord,“The products of Egypt and the merchandise of CushAnd the Sabeans, men of stature,Will come over to you and will be yours;They will walk behind you, they will come over in chainsAnd will bow down to you;They will make supplication to you:‘Surely, God is with you, and there is none else,No other God.’”

For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited),“I am the Lord, and there is none else.

“Now, then, hear this, you sensual one,Who dwells securely,Who says in your heart,‘I am, and there is no one besides me.I will not sit as a widow,Nor know loss of children.’

And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,To bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel might be gathered to Him(For I am honored in the sight of the Lord,And My God is My strength),

Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One,To the despised One,To the One abhorred by the nation,To the Servant of rulers,“Kings will see and arise,Princes will also bow down,Because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

Thus says the Lord,“In a favorable time I have answered You,And in a day of salvation I have helped You;And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people,To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages;

Thus says the Lord God,“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nationsAnd set up My standard to the peoples;And they will bring your sons in their bosom,And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.

Surely, thus says the Lord,“Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away,And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued;For I will contend with the one who contends with you,And I will save your sons.

Thus says the Lord,“Where is the certificate of divorceBy which I have sent your mother away?Or to whom of My creditors did I sell you?Behold, you were sold for your iniquities,And for your transgressions your mother was sent away.

Thus says your Lord, the Lord, even your GodWho contends for His people,“Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of reeling,The chalice of My anger;You will never drink it again.

For thus says the Lord, “You were sold for nothing and you will be redeemed without money.”

For thus says the Lord God, “My people went down at the first into Egypt to reside there; then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

“Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child;Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed;For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerousThan the sons of the married woman,” says the Lord.

“For the Lord has called you,Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit,Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,”Says your God.

“In an outburst of angerI hid My face from you for a moment,But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,”Says the Lord your Redeemer.

“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you,And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,”Says the Lord who has compassion on you.

Thus says the Lord,“Preserve justice and do righteousness,For My salvation is about to comeAnd My righteousness to be revealed.

For thus says the Lord,“To the eunuchs who keep My sabbaths,And choose what pleases Me,And hold fast My covenant,

Creating the praise of the lips.Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,”Says the Lord, “and I will heal him.”

“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”

Both their own iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says the Lord.“Because they have burned incense on the mountainsAnd scorned Me on the hills,Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”

Thus says the Lord,“As the new wine is found in the cluster,And one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is benefit in it,’So I will act on behalf of My servantsIn order not to destroy all of them.

Therefore, thus says the Lord God,“Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry.Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty.Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.

The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain,” says the Lord.

“Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord.“Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God.

For thus says the Lord, “Behold, I extend peace to her like a river,And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees.

Then they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as a grain offering to the Lord, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites,” says the Lord.

“And it shall be from new moon to new moonAnd from sabbath to sabbath,All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the Lord.
