'Yourself' in the Bible
[Confine yourself to your own wife.] Let your children be yours alone,And not the children of strangers with you.
Do this now, my son, and release yourself [from the obligation];Since you have come into the hand of your neighbor,Go humble yourself, and plead with your neighbor [to pay his debt and release you].
Tear yourself away like a gazelle from the hand of the hunterAnd like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself [for your own benefit];If you scoff [thoughtlessly ridicule and disdain], you alone will pay the penalty.
Discipline and teach your son while there is hope,And do not [indulge your anger or resentment by imposing inappropriate punishment nor] desire his destruction.
Or you will learn his [undisciplined] waysAnd get yourself trapped [in a situation from which it is hard to escape].
Do not weary yourself [with the overwhelming desire] to gain wealth;Cease from your own understanding of it.
Prepare your work outsideAnd get it ready for yourself in the field;Afterward build your house and establish a home.
Do not boast about tomorrow,For you do not know what a day may bring.
If you have foolishly exalted yourself,Or if you have plotted evil, put your hand on your mouth.
