Many Disciples Desert Jesus

⁶⁵ Then He said, "This is the reason I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father gives him [the opportunity. See verse 44]." ⁶⁶ Upon [hearing] this, many of Jesus' disciples turned back and refused to accompany Him anymore. [Note: They deserted Jesus physically as well as spiritually]. ⁶⁷ Therefore, Jesus said to the twelve apostles, "Do you not want to go [with me] either?"
