1 {To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How blessed is he who (A)considers the (a)helpless; The Lord will deliver him (B)in a day of (b)trouble.
1 For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.Happy is one who cares for the poor;the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.(A)
1 Blessed is the one who is considerate of the destitute; the LORD will deliver him when the times are evil.
1 Blessed [by God’s grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him in the day of trouble.
2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
2 The Lord will (C)protect him and keep him alive,And he shall (c)be called (D)blessed upon the earth; And (E)do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
2 The Lord will keep him and preserve him;he will be blessed in the land.(B)You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.(C)
2 The LORD will protect him and keep him alive; he will be blessed in the land; and he will not be handed over to the desires of his enemies.
2 The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; And he will be called blessed in the land; You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies.
3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
3 The LORD will uphold him even on his sickbed; you will transform his bed of illness into health.
3 The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed; In his illness, You will restore him to health.
6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
6 And (e)when he comes to see me, he (I)speaks (f)falsehood; His heart gathers wickedness to itself; When he goes outside, he tells it.
6 When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully;he stores up evil in his heart;he goes out and talks.(G)
6 The one who comes to visit me speaks lies; in his heart he thinks slanderous things about me and goes around spreading them.
6 And when one comes to see me, he speaks empty words,While his heart gathers malicious gossip [against me];When he goes away, he tells it [everywhere].
8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
8 They say, "Wickedness is entrenched in him. Once he is brought low, he will not rise again."
8 “A wicked thing is poured out upon him and holds him;And when he lies down, he will not rise up again.”
11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
11 By this I know that (N)You are pleased with me,Because (O)my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
11 In this way I will know that you are pleased with me, and that my enemies will not shout in triumph over me.
11 By this I know that You favor and delight in me,Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen and amen! To the Director: An instruction of the Sons of Korah.
13 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,From everlasting to everlasting [from this age to the next, and forever].Amen and Amen (so be it).
