'Jesus Said' in the Bible
Taking her hand, Jesus said to her: "Taleitha, koum!"--which means 'little girl, I am speaking to you--Rise!'
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
then Jesus said to them, come, let us retire privately to some place of solitude, to repose your selves a while. for such a crowd of people were continually coming and going, that they had not even time to eat.
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Sighing deeply, Jesus said: "Why does this generation ask for a sign? I tell you, no sign shall be given it."
Jesus, aware of this [discussion], said to them, “Why are you discussing [the fact] that you have no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?
Calling the people and his disciples to him, Jesus said: "If any man wishes to walk in my steps, let him renounce self, take up his cross, and follow me.
And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste (experience) death before they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”
Jesus said to them, "You generation of faithless people How long must I be with you [i.e., before you understand]? How long do I have to be patient with you? Bring the sick boy to me."
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
But Jesus said unto them, For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Then looking round on His disciples Jesus said, "With how hard a struggle will the possessors of riches enter the Kingdom of God!"
The disciples were amazed and bewildered by His words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is [for those who place their hope and confidence in riches] to enter the kingdom of God!
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.”
Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel's sake,
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.
And, coming to a stand, Jesus said - Call him! And they call the blind man, saying unto him - Take courage! rise! he calleth thee!
And Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni (my Master), let me regain my sight.”
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
thereupon Jesus said to the fig-tree, "no one shall ever eat any fruit of yours." and his disciples took notice of it.
Jesus said to them, "Have faith in God.
And Jesus said unto them, I will ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
So they replied to Jesus, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
Should we pay, or should we not pay?" Knowing their hypocrisy, Jesus said to them: "Why are you testing me? Bring me a florin to look at."
And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. And they marvelled greatly at him.
Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
Jesus said in answer, The first is, Give ear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord;
Perceiving that the Scribe had answered wisely Jesus said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one from that time forward ventured to put any question to Him.
And continuing, Jesus said [while] teaching in the temple [courts], "How can the scribes say that the Christ is David's son?
In His teaching Jesus said, "Look out for the experts in the law of Moses, who like to walk around in long [flowing] robes and to receive special greetings at the open shopping markets
On this, calling his disciples to him, Jesus said: "I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all the others who were putting money into the chests;
And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down.
And Jesus said to them, Take care that you are not tricked by anyone.
And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away [and be ashamed and be afraid to be associated with Me as disciples], because it is written, ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
And Jesus said to him, 'Verily I say to thee, that to-day, this night, before a cock shall crow twice, thrice thou shalt deny me.'
Then they went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
Jesus said to them, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me, as you would against a robber?
And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
Pilate questioned him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" In reply Jesus said, "It is as you say."
And at the ninth hour, Jesus said in a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, My God, my God, why are you turned away from me?
And, answering, Jesus said to him - It is written: The Lord thy God, shalt thou worship, and, unto him alone, render divine service.
And having answered, Jesus said to him, It is said, Thou shall not challenge Lord thy God.
Jesus said to them, "No doubt you will quote to me the proverb, 'Physician, heal yourself!' and say, 'What we have heard that you did in Capernaum, do here in your hometown too.'"
And Jesus said to him, Be quiet, and come out of him. And when the evil spirit had put him down on the earth in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no damage.
But Jesus said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do."
And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
Reaching out His hand and touching him, Jesus said, "I am willing; be cleansed!" And instantly the leprosy left him.
When he saw their faith, Jesus said: "Friend, your sins have been forgiven you."
But knowing their thoughts, answering, Jesus said to them, Why do you reason in your hearts?
And, answering, Jesus said unto them - No need, have, the whole, of a physician, but, they who are sick.
And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
Then, as an illustration, Jesus said to them: "No man ever tears a piece from a new garment and puts it upon an old one; for, if he does, he will not only tear the new garment, but the piece from the new one will not match the old.
And Jesus said, Have you not seen in the Writings what David did when he was in need of food, he, and those who were with him;
And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
Then fixing His eyes upon His disciples, Jesus said to them, "Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.
Then, speaking in parables, Jesus said: "Can one blind man guide another? Will they not both fall into a ditch?
Then He went near the casket and touched it; [immediately] the pallbearers stopped. Jesus said, "Young man, I tell you, get up."
And answering, Jesus said to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the gospel is proclaimed to the poor.
In answer to his thoughts Jesus said to him, "Simon, I have a word to say to you." "Rabbi, say on," he replied.
Simon answered, “The one, I take it, for whom he forgave more.” Jesus said to him, “You have decided correctly.”
Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith [in Me] has saved you; go in peace [free from the distress experienced because of sin].”
And Jesus said to him, What is your name? And he said, Legion; for a number of spirits had gone into him.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
Then Jesus said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace."
Now everyone was crying and wailing for her. But Jesus said, "Stop crying! She's not dead. She's sleeping."
But, taking her by the hand, Jesus said in a loud voice: "Child, rise!"
But Jesus said: "It is for you to give them something to eat." "We have not more than five loaves and two fishes," they answered; "unless indeed we are to go and buy food for all these people."
for they were about five thousand. but Jesus said to his disciples, make them sit down by fifties in a company.
Then Jesus said to them, "But who do you men say that I am?" And Peter answered, " [You are] the Christ of God [i.e., God's specially chosen one]."
Now about eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John, and James with him and went up on a mountain to pray.
And Jesus said, O generation without faith and false in heart, how long will I have to be with you and put up with you? let your son come here.
And all were struck with amazement at the majesty of God. And all wondering at all which he did, Jesus said to his disciples,
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Jesus said to another, "Follow me." But he replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
And Jesus said to them, "I saw Satan falling from heaven as lightning.
At that moment, the Holy Spirit made Jesus extremely joyful, so Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from wise and intelligent people and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this is what was pleasing to you.
Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said to them alone: "Blessed are the eyes that see what you are seeing;
Jesus said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this habitually and you will live.”
And taking up the question , Jesus said - A certain man, was going down from Jerusalem unto Jericho, and, with robbers, fell in, - who, stripping him, and inflicting, wounds, upon him, departed, leaving him, half dead.
And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
And Jesus said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and in a hurry about many things: but one thing is necessary.
And Jesus said to His disciples, "Suppose one of you who has a friend would go to him at midnight and say to him, ' [Please] lend me three loaves of bread,
But, knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, "Every kingdom [plagued] with internal division will end in ruin. And a household divided from within will fall.
But Jesus said, "Yes, but those who listen to God's message and obey it are [more] blessed."
Jesus said, "How terrible it will be for you experts in the Law, too! You load people with burdens that are hard to carry, yet you don't even lift a finger to ease those burdens.
But Jesus said to him, "Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator between you two?"
