Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.

Don’t be excessively wicked, and don’t be foolish. Why should you die before your time?

Do not murder.

Whoever sheds man’s blood,
his blood will be shed by man,
for God made man in His image.

And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment—

The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away.
Praise the name of Yahweh.

The life of every living thing is in His hand,
as well as the breath of all mankind.

“Lord, reveal to me the end of my life
and the number of my days.
Let me know how short-lived I am.

But a woman threw the upper portion of a millstone on Abimelech’s head and fractured his skull. He quickly called his armor-bearer and said to him, “Draw your sword and kill me, or they’ll say about me, ‘A woman killed him.’” So his armor-bearer thrust him through, and he died.

Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through with it, or these uncircumcised men will come and run me through and torture me.” But his armor-bearer would not do it because he was terrified. Then Saul took his sword and fell on it. When his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his own sword and died with him.
