'Even' in the Bible
From the sole of the foot even to the headThere is nothing sound in it,Only bruises, welts and raw wounds,Not pressed out or bandaged,Nor softened with oil.
“So when you spread out your hands in prayer,I will hide My eyes from you;Yes, even though you multiply prayers,I will not listen.Your hands are covered with blood.

And it will growl over it in that day like the roaring of the sea.If one looks to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress;Even the light is darkened by its clouds.
“Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the strong and abundant waters of the Euphrates,Even the king of Assyria and all his glory;And it will rise up over all its channels and go over all its banks.
“Then it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass through,It will reach even to the neck;And the spread of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.
“Many will stumble over them,Then they will fall and be broken;They will even be snared and caught.”
And I will wait for the Lord who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him.
For wickedness burns like a fire;It consumes briars and thorns;It even sets the thickets of the forest aflameAnd they roll upward in a column of smoke.
I have commanded My consecrated ones,I have even called My mighty warriors,My proudly exulting ones,To execute My anger.
And their bows will mow down the young men,They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb,Nor will their eye pity children.

We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride;Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury;His idle boasts are false.
It will be even like the reaper gathering the standing grain,As his arm harvests the ears,Or it will be like one gleaning ears of grainIn the valley of Rephaim.

At that time a gift of homage will be brought to the Lord of hostsFrom a people tall and smooth,Even from a people feared far and wide,A powerful and oppressive nation,Whose land the rivers divide—To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, even Mount Zion.
Thus the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.
And the Lord said, “Even as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot three years as a sign and token against Egypt and Cush,

And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all peoples,Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.
The unassailable fortifications of your walls He will bring down,Lay low and cast to the ground, even to the dust.
Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Lord,We have waited for You eagerly;Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls.
In that day the Lord will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,With His fierce and great and mighty sword,Even Leviathan the twisted serpent;And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.

Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame.
They will be put to shame and even humiliated, all of them;The manufacturers of idols will go away together in humiliation.
Even to your old age I will be the same,And even to your graying years I will bear you!I have done it, and I will carry you;And I will bear you and I will deliver you.
“You have heard; look at all this.And you, will you not declare it?I proclaim to you new things from this time,Even hidden things which you have not known.

“Can a woman forget her nursing childAnd have no compassion on the son of her womb?Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
Surely, thus says the Lord,“Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away,And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued;For I will contend with the one who contends with you,And I will save your sons.
“I, even I, am He who comforts you.Who are you that you are afraid of man who diesAnd of the son of man who is made like grass,
Thus says your Lord, the Lord, even your GodWho contends for His people,“Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of reeling,The chalice of My anger;You will never drink it again.
“I will put it into the hand of your tormentors,Who have said to you, ‘Lie down that we may walk over you.’You have even made your back like the groundAnd like the street for those who walk over it.”
“For the Lord has called you,Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit,Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,”Says your God.
“Behold, you will call a nation you do not know,And a nation which knows you not will run to you,Because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel;For He has glorified you.”
Even those I will bring to My holy mountainAnd make them joyful in My house of prayer.Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar;For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”
“Among the smooth stones of the ravineIs your portion, they are your lot;Even to them you have poured out a drink offering,You have made a grain offering.Shall I relent concerning these things?
“Of whom were you worried and fearfulWhen you lied, and did not remember MeNor give Me a thought?Was I not silent even for a long timeSo you do not fear Me?
“Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself?Is it for bowing one’s head like a reedAnd for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed?Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?
“Behold, it is written before Me,I will not keep silent, but I will repay;I will even repay into their bosom,
“I will bring forth offspring from Jacob,And an heir of My mountains from Judah;Even My chosen ones shall inherit it,And My servants will dwell there.
