and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down! For it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and 'On [their] hands they will lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'"
Jesus said to him, "On the other hand it is written, 'You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.'"
Then Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan, for it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"

But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or his mother, "Whatever {benefit you would have received} from me [is] a gift [to God],"

And crying out with a loud voice he said, "{What have I to do with you}, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore you by God, do not torment me!"
Abandoning the commandment of God, you hold fast to the tradition of men."
And he said to them, "You splendidly ignore the commandment of God so that you can keep your tradition.
But you say, 'If a man says to his father or to his mother, "Whatever {benefit you would have received} from me [is] corban" (that is, a gift [to God]),
[thus] making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down, and you do many similar [things] such as this."
But turning around and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan, because you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of people!"
And he said to them, "Truly I say to you, that there are some of those standing here who will never experience death until they see the kingdom of God having come with power."
And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out! It is better [for] you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than, having two eyes, to be thrown into hell,
Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate."
But [when] Jesus saw [it], he was indignant, and said to them, "Let the young children come to me. Do not forbid them, {for to such belongs} the kingdom of God.

And Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God!" And they were utterly amazed at him.
Jesus said to them, "Are you not deceived because of this, [because you] do not know the scriptures or the power of God?
Now concerning the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses {in the passage about the bush} how God spoke to him, saying, 'I [am] the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob'?
He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are very much mistaken!"
Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
