'One' in the Bible
These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
At this time Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty persons was there together), and said,
beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”
And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.
And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language.
And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
Because You will not abandon my soul to Hades,Nor allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
And so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.
But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.
For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another,
And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.
At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s portico.
to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them.
saying, “We found the prison house locked quite securely and the guards standing at the doors; but when we had opened up, we found no one inside.”
He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
And when he saw one of them being treated unjustly, he defended him and took vengeance for the oppressed by striking down the Egyptian.
On the following day he appeared to them as they were fighting together, and he tried to reconcile them in peace, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren, why do you injure one another?’
But the one who was injuring his neighbor pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?
“This Moses whom they disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush.
This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living oracles to pass on to you.
Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become;
But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse.
The crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing.
The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.
a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.
Peter went down to the men and said, “Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?”
Opening his mouth, Peter said:“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.
“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”
So then those who were scattered because of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone.
One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius.
When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
Now he was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one accord they came to him, and having won over Blastus the king’s chamberlain, they were asking for peace, because their country was fed by the king’s country.
And while John was completing his course, he kept saying, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not He. But behold, one is coming after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
Therefore He also says in another Psalm, ‘You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.’
it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
And there occurred such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one another, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus.

But among the crowd some were shouting one thing and some another, and when he could not find out the facts because of the uproar, he ordered him to be brought into the barracks.
And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.
And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth.
And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
But perceiving that one group were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, Paul began crying out in the Council, “Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am on trial for the hope and resurrection of the dead!”
Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, “Lead this young man to the commander, for he has something to report to him.”
So the commander let the young man go, instructing him, “Tell no one that you have notified me of these things.”
other than for this one statement which I shouted out while standing among them, ‘For the resurrection of the dead I am on trial before you today.’”
If, then, I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything worthy of death, I do not refuse to die; but if none of those things is true of which these men accuse me, no one can hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar.”
and when they had gone aside, they began talking to one another, saying, “This man is not doing anything worthy of death or imprisonment.”
When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, “Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live.”
And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,
