'Son' in the Bible
The Word became fleshand took up residence among us.We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
No one has ever seen God.The One and Only Son—the One who is at the Father’s side—He has revealed Him.
I have seen and testified that He is the Son of God!”
and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, He said, “You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which means “Rock”).
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law (and so did the prophets): Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”
“Rabbi,” Nathanael replied, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
Then He said, “I assure you: You will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.
The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hands.
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
so He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar near the property that Jacob had given his son Joseph.
Then He went again to Cana of Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. There was a certain royal official whose son was ill at Capernaum.
When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and pleaded with Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
“Go,” Jesus told him, “your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and departed.
The father realized this was the very hour at which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” Then he himself believed, along with his whole household.
Then Jesus replied, “I assure you: The Son is not able to do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things in the same way.
For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything He is doing, and He will show Him greater works than these so that you will be amazed.
And just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son also gives life to anyone He wants to.
The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,
so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
“I assure you: An hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
For just as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.
And He has granted Him the right to pass judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal of approval on Him.”
For this is the will of My Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
They were saying, “Isn’t this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can He now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
So Jesus said to them, “I assure you: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves.
Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?
He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, one of the Twelve, because he was going to betray Him.
So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own. But just as the Father taught Me, I say these things.
A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.
Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.
They asked them, “Is this your son, the one you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
“We know this is our son and that he was born blind,” his parents answered.
When Jesus heard that they had thrown the man out, He found him and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
do you say, ‘You are blaspheming’ to the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God?
When Jesus heard it, He said, “This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
“Yes, Lord,” she told Him, “I believe You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who comes into the world.”
Jesus replied to them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Then the crowd replied to Him, “We have heard from the scripture that the Messiah will remain forever. So how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
Now by the time of supper, the Devil had already put it into the heart of Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray Him.
Jesus replied, “He’s the one I give the piece of bread to after I have dipped it.” When He had dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son.
When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said:Father, the hour has come.Glorify Your Sonso that the Son may glorify You,
While I was with them,I was protecting them by Your namethat You have given Me.I guarded them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction,so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
“We have a law,” the Jews replied to him, “and according to that law He must die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”
When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple He loved standing there, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.”
But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.
When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?”“Yes, Lord,” he said to Him, “You know that I love You.”“Feed My lambs,” He told him.
A second time He asked him, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”“Yes, Lord,” he said to Him, “You know that I love You.”“Shepherd My sheep,” He told him.
He asked him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, “Do you love Me?” He said, “Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You.”“Feed My sheep,” Jesus said.
