But Abram said, "O sovereign Lord, what will you give me since I continue to be childless, and my heir is Eliezer of Damascus?"

Abram added, "Since you have not given me a descendant, then look, one born in my house will be my heir!"

But look, the word of the Lord came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but instead a son who comes from your own body will be your heir."

So she said to Abraham, "Banish that slave woman and her son, for the son of that slave woman will not be an heir along with my son Isaac!"

Now the entire family has risen up against your servant, saying, 'Turn over the one who struck down his brother, so that we can execute him and avenge the death of his brother whom he killed. A servant who acts wisely will rule over an heir who behaves shamefully, and will share the inheritance along with the relatives.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and get his inheritance!'

But those tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and the inheritance will be ours!'

But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another, 'This is the heir; let's kill him so the inheritance will be ours!'
