'News' in the Bible
And when news of Jesus came to his ears, he sent to him rulers of the Jews, requesting that he would come and make his servant well.
This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding countryside.
He replied to them, “Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.
And there was a woman in the town who was a sinner; and when she had news that he was a guest in the Pharisee's house, she took a bottle of perfume,
Soon afterward He was traveling from one town and village to another, preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him,
When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news in the town and countryside.
Go back to your house and let them have news of all the great things which God has done for you. And he went away, giving word through all the town of the great things which Jesus had done for him.
So they went out and traveled from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing everywhere.
Now Herod the king had news of all these things: and he was in doubt, because it was said by some people that John had come back from the dead;
But the people, getting news of it, went after him: and he was pleased to see them, and gave them teaching about the kingdom of God, and made those well who were in need of it.
But He told him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and spread the news of the kingdom of God.”
“The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is strongly urged to enter it.
One day as He was teaching the people in the temple complex and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders, came up
And when news of wars and troubled times comes to your ears, have no fear; for these things have to be, but the end will not be now.
Then stopping, and looking sadly at him, one of them, named Cleopas, said to him, Are you the only man living in Jerusalem who has not had news of the things which have taken place there at this time?
So when the news came to him that Lazarus was ill, he did not go from the place where he was for two days.
When Martha had the news that Jesus was on the way, she went out to him, but Mary did not go from the house.
But some of them went to the Pharisees with the news of what Jesus had done.
Then a great number of the Jews had news that he was there: and they came, not only because of Jesus, but so that they might see Lazarus who had been dead and to whom he had given life.
The day after, a great number of people who were there for the feast, when they had the news that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Mary Magdalene came, reporting to the disciples that she had seen the Lord and that He had said these things to her.
But the men who were sent saw that they were not in the prison, and came back with the news,
Every day in the temple complex, and in various homes, they continued teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
Which of the prophets was not cruelly attacked by your fathers? and they put to death those who gave them the news of the coming of the Upright One; whom you have now given up and put to death;
So those who were scattered went on their way preaching the message of good news.
But when they believed Philip, as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
Now when the Apostles at Jerusalem had news that the people of Samaria had taken the word of God into their hearts, they sent to them Peter and John;
After they had given their testimony and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, continuing to proclaim the good news in many Samaritan villages.
So Philip proceeded to tell him the good news about Jesus, beginning from that Scripture.
But Philip found himself at Azotus. As he was passing through that region, he kept proclaiming the good news in all the towns until he came to Caesarea.
And news of it went all through Joppa, and a number of people had faith in the Lord.
He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all.
And he gave us orders to give news of this to the people, and to give public witness that this is he whom God has made judge of the living and the dead.
Now the Apostles and the brothers who were in Judaea had news that the word of God had been given to the Gentiles.
But there were some of them, Cypriot and Cyrenian men, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Hellenists, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus.
When the church in Jerusalem heard this news, they sent Barnabas all the way to Antioch.
But he made a sign to them with his hand to be quiet, and gave them an account of how the Lord had taken him out of prison. And he said, Give the news to James and the brothers. And then he went away.
And we ourselves proclaim to you the good news of the promise that was made to our ancestors.
Having got news of it, they went in flight to the towns of Lycaonia, Lystra, and Derbe, and the country round about:
There they kept talking about the good news.
“Men! Why are you doing these things? We are men also, with the same nature as you, and we are proclaiming good news to you, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.
As they were proclaiming the good news in that city, they discipled a large number of people. Then they went back to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
So they, being sent on their way by the church, went through Phoenicia and Samaria, giving news of the salvation of the Gentiles, to the great joy of all the brothers.
and there having been much disputing, Peter having risen up said unto them, 'Men, brethren, ye know that from former days, God among us did make choice, through my mouth, for the nations to hear the word of the good news, and to believe;
And Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming good news -- with many others also -- the word of the Lord;
As soon as he had seen the vision, we immediately looked for a way to go to Macedonia, because we were convinced that God had called us to tell the people there the good news.
She came after Paul and us, crying out and saying, These men are the servants of the Most High God, who are giving you news of the way of salvation.

And they have had news of you, how you have been teaching all the Jews among the Gentiles to give up the law of Moses, and not to give circumcision to their children, and not to keep the old rules.
What then is the position? They will certainly get news that you have come.

So I am eager to preach the good news to you also who are in Rome.
for I am not ashamed of the good news of the Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to every one who is believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek.
For in the Good News a righteousness which comes from God is being revealed, depending on faith and tending to produce faith; as the Scripture has it, "The righteous man shall live by faith."

But how will they give worship to him in whom they have no faith? and how will they have faith in him of whom they have not had news? and how will they have news without a preacher?
And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are those who bring the good news!"
But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
From the standpoint of the gospel, the Jews [at present] are enemies [of God] for your sake [which is for your benefit], but from the standpoint of God’s choice [of the Jews as His people], they are still loved by Him for the sake of the fathers.
to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of God’s good news. My purpose is that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
by the power of miraculous signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit. As a result, I have fully proclaimed the good news about the Messiah from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.
and so counting it honour to proclaim good news, not where Christ was named -- that upon another's foundation I might not build --
but as it is written,“They who had no news of Him shall see,And they who have not heard shall understand.”
and I have known that coming unto you -- in the fulness of the blessing of the good news of Christ I shall come.
And to Him who is able to establish you, according to my good news, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret, in the times of the ages having been kept silent,
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but -- to proclaim good news; not in wisdom of discourse, that the cross of the Christ may not be made of none effect;
But we give the good news of Christ on the cross, a hard thing to the Jews, and a foolish thing to the Gentiles;
But we give the news of the secret wisdom of God, which he had kept in store before the world came into existence, for our glory;
What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? They are but servants who gave you the good news as God gave it to them.
for if a myriad of child-conductors ye may have in Christ, yet not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus, through the good news, I -- I did beget you;
if others do partake of the authority over you -- not we more? but we did not use this authority, but all things we bear, that we may give no hindrance to the good news of the Christ.
so also did the Lord direct to those proclaiming the good news: of the good news to live.
for if I may proclaim good news, it is no glorying for me, for necessity is laid upon me, and woe is to me if I may not proclaim good news;
What, then, is my reward? -- that proclaiming good news, without charge I shall make the good news of the Christ, not to abuse my authority in the good news;
And to the Jews I was as a Jew, so that I might give the good news to them; to those under the law I was the same, not as being myself under the law, but so that I might give the good news to those under the law.
To those without the law I was as one without the law, not as being without law to God, but as under law to Christ, so that I might give the good news to those without the law.
And this I do because of the good news, that a fellow-partaker of it I may become;
But I give blows to my body, and keep it under control, for fear that, after having given the good news to others, I myself might not have God's approval.
And I make known to you, brethren, the good news that I proclaimed to you, which also ye did receive, in which also ye have stood,
through which also ye are being saved, in what words I proclaimed good news to you, if ye hold fast, except ye did believe in vain,
Now if the good news says that Christ came back from the dead, how do some of you say that there is no coming back from the dead?
And if Christ did not come again from the dead, then our good news and your faith in it are of no effect.
And having come to Troas for the good news of the Christ, and a door to me having been opened in the Lord,
and if also our good news is vailed, in those perishing it is vailed,
in whom the god of this age did blind the minds of the unbelieving, that there doth not shine forth to them the enlightening of the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God;
That is, that God was in Christ making peace between the world and himself, not putting their sins to their account, and having given to us the preaching of this news of peace.
And now we give you news, brothers, about the grace of God which has been given to the churches of Macedonia;
and we sent with him the brother, whose praise in the good news is through all the assemblies,
through the proof of this ministration glorifying God for the subjection of your confession to the good news of the Christ, and for the liberality of the fellowship to them and to all,
for not as not reaching to you do we stretch ourselves overmuch, for even unto you did we come in the good news of the Christ,
