Acts 4:1

Peter And John Arrested

¹ While they were speaking to the people, the priests, the commander of the Temple guards, and the Sadducees came to them. ² They were greatly disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people and announcing that Jesus had been resurrected from the dead.

So he went off and discussed with the high priests and the Temple police how he could betray Jesus to them.

When Paul saw that some of them were Sadducees and others were Pharisees, he shouted in the Council, "Brothers, I'm a Pharisee and a descendant of Pharisees. I'm on trial concerning the hope that the dead will be resurrected."
