Yahweh's Judgment Upon Egypt

¹⁵ Egypt will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself over the nations. I will make them so small they cannot rule over the nations. ¹⁶ It will never again be an object of trust for the house of Israel, drawing attention to their sin of turning to the Egyptians. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.” ¹⁷ In the twenty-seventh year in the first month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:

Hosea 8:13

Though they offer sacrificial gifts
and eat the flesh,
the Lord does not accept them.

Lord, do not be terribly angry

Numbers 5:15

Ezekiel 29:9

The land of Egypt will be a desolate ruin. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. Because you said, ‘The Nile is my own; I made it,’

Ezekiel 29:21

“In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will enable you to speak out among them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

Hosea 5:13

When Ephraim saw his sickness
and Judah his wound,
Ephraim went to Assyria
and sent a delegation to the great king.
But he cannot cure you or heal your wound.

Hosea 7:11

So Ephraim has become like a silly, senseless dove;
they call to Egypt, and they go to Assyria.

They have deeply corrupted themselves
as in the days of Gibeah.
He will remember their guilt;
He will punish their sins.

and pursues the east wind.
He continually multiplies lies and violence.
He makes a covenant with Assyria,
and olive oil is carried to Egypt.

Hosea 14:3

Assyria will not save us,
we will not ride on horses,
and we will no longer proclaim, ‘Our gods!’
to the work of our hands.
For the fatherless receives compassion in You.”

Hebrews 10:3

But in the sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

Hebrews 10:17

He adds:

I will never again remember
their sins and their lawless acts.

Revelation 16:19

The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the Great was remembered in God’s presence; He gave her the cup filled with the wine of His fierce anger.
