Justice, Love, And Propriety

¹⁵ ‘You shall not do injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor show a preference for the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. ¹⁶ You shall not go around as a gossip among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor [with slander or false testimony]; I am the Lord. ¹⁷ ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart; you may most certainly rebuke your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him.

“You shall not give a false report; you shall not join hands with the wicked to be a malicious witness [promoting wrong and violence].

Exodus 23:7

Keep far away from a false charge or action, and do not condemn to death the innocent or the righteous, for I will not justify and acquit the guilty.

Psalm 15:3

He does not slander with his tongue,

Ezekiel 22:9

1 Kings 21:10-13

Proverbs 20:19

He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets;
