Judgment against Idolatry

וַיְהִ֥י
way·hî
And came
דְבַר־
ḏə·ḇar-
the word
יְהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
אֵלַ֥י
’ê·lay
to me
､ לֵאמֹֽר׃
lê·mōr.
saying ､
2
בֶּן־
ben-
､ אָדָ֕ם
’ā·ḏām
of man ､
שִׂ֥ים
śîm
פָּנֶ֖יךָ
pā·ne·ḵā
אֶל־
’el-
הָרֵ֣י
hā·rê
､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל
yiś·rā·’êl;
of Israel ､
וְהִנָּבֵ֖א
wə·hin·nā·ḇê
. אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
’ă·lê·hem.

､ וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔
wə·’ā·mar·tā,
And say ､
הָרֵי֙
hā·rê
､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
yiś·rā·’êl,
of Israel ､
שִׁמְע֖וּ
šim·‘ū
דְּבַר־
də·ḇar-
the word
אֲדֹנָ֣י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
of the Lord
– יְהוִ֑ה
Yah·weh;
GOD –
כֹּה־
kōh-
אָמַ֣ר
’ā·mar
אֲדֹנָ֣י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
the Lord
יְ֠הוִה
Yah·weh
､ לֶהָרִ֨ים
le·hā·rîm
to the mountains ､
､ וְלַגְּבָע֜וֹת
wə·lag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ
and to the hills ､
､ לָאֲפִיקִ֣ים
lā·’ă·p̄î·qîm
to the ravines ､
[ולגאית]
wə·lag·gê·’ā·yōṯ
-
– (וְלַגֵּאָי֗וֹת)
wə·lag·gê·’ā·yō·wṯ,
and to the valleys –
､ הִנְנִ֨י
hin·nî
indeed I ､
､ אֲנִ֜י
’ă·nî
[even] I ､
מֵבִ֤יא
mê·ḇî
will bring
עֲלֵיכֶם֙
‘ă·lê·ḵem
חֶ֔רֶב
ḥe·reḇ,
וְאִבַּדְתִּ֖י
wə·’ib·baḏ·tî
and I will destroy
. בָּמֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
bā·mō·w·ṯê·ḵem.

､ וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙
wə·nā·šam·mū
And shall be desolate ､
מִזְבְּח֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם
miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·ḵem,
– וְנִשְׁבְּר֖וּ
wə·niš·bə·rū
and shall be broken –
חַמָּֽנֵיכֶ֑ם
ḥam·mā·nê·ḵem;
וְהִפַּלְתִּי֙
wə·hip·pal·tî
and I will cast down
חַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם
ḥal·lê·ḵem,
לִפְנֵ֖י
lip̄·nê
. גִּלּוּלֵיכֶֽם׃
gil·lū·lê·ḵem.

וְנָתַתִּ֗י
wə·nā·ṯat·tî,
And I will lay
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
פִּגְרֵי֙
piḡ·rê
בְּנֵ֣י
bə·nê
of the sons
יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
yiś·rā·’êl,
לִפְנֵ֖י
lip̄·nê
– גִּלּֽוּלֵיהֶ֑ם
gil·lū·lê·hem;
וְזֵרִיתִי֙
wə·zê·rî·ṯî
and I will scatter
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
עַצְמ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם
‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯê·ḵem,
סְבִיב֖וֹת
sə·ḇî·ḇō·wṯ
. מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·ḵem.

בְּכֹל֙
bə·ḵōl
In all
מוֹשְׁב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם
mō·wō·šə·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem,
הֶעָרִ֣ים
he·‘ā·rîm
the cities
､ תֶּחֱרַ֔בְנָה
te·ḥĕ·raḇ·nāh,
וְהַבָּמ֖וֹת
wə·hab·bā·mō·wṯ
and the high places
– תִּישָׁ֑מְנָה
tî·šā·mə·nāh;
לְמַעַן֩
lə·ma·‘an
so that
יֶחֶרְב֨וּ
ye·ḥer·ḇū
､ וְיֶאְשְׁמ֜וּ
wə·ye’·šə·mū
and made desolate ､
מִזְבְּחֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם
miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·ḵem,
וְנִשְׁבְּר֤וּ
wə·niš·bə·rū
and may be broken
､ וְנִשְׁבְּתוּ֙
wə·niš·bə·ṯū
and made to cease ､
גִּלּ֣וּלֵיכֶ֔ם
gil·lū·lê·ḵem,
､ וְנִגְדְּעוּ֙
wə·niḡ·də·‘ū
and may be cut down ､
חַמָּ֣נֵיכֶ֔ם
ḥam·mā·nê·ḵem,
וְנִמְח֖וּ
wə·nim·ḥū
and may be abolished
. מַעֲשֵׂיכֶֽם׃
ma·‘ă·śê·ḵem.

וְנָפַ֥ל
wə·nā·p̄al
חָלָ֖ל
ḥā·lāl
the slain
בְּתֽוֹכְכֶ֑ם
bə·ṯō·wḵ·ḵem;
וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם
wî·ḏa‘·tem
כִּֽי־
kî-
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
I [am]
. יְהוָֽה׃
Yah·weh.

A Remnant Shall Be Blessed

8
､ וְהוֹתַרְתִּ֗י
wə·hō·w·ṯar·tî,
And yet I will leave a remnant ､
בִּהְי֥וֹת
bih·yō·wṯ
לָכֶ֛ם
lā·ḵem
פְּלִ֥יטֵי
pə·lî·ṭê
חֶ֖רֶב
ḥe·reḇ
the sword
､ בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם
bag·gō·w·yim;
among the nations ､
בְּהִזָּרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם
bə·hiz·zā·rō·w·ṯê·ḵem
. בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃
bā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ.

וְזָכְר֨וּ
wə·zā·ḵə·rū
And will remember
פְלִֽיטֵיכֶ֜ם
p̄ə·lî·ṭê·ḵem
אוֹתִ֗י
’ō·w·ṯî,
Me
בַּגּוֹיִם֮
bag·gō·w·yim
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
､ נִשְׁבּוּ־
niš·bū-
שָׁם֒
šām
אֲשֶׁ֨ר
’ă·šer
נִשְׁבַּ֜רְתִּי
niš·bar·tî
אֶת־
’eṯ-
by
､ לִבָּ֣ם
lib·bām
הַזּוֹנֶ֗ה
haz·zō·w·neh,
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
סָר֙
sār
מֵֽעָלַ֔י
mê·‘ā·lay,
from Me
וְאֵת֙
wə·’êṯ
and by
､ עֵֽינֵיהֶ֔ם
‘ê·nê·hem,
הַזֹּנ֕וֹת
haz·zō·nō·wṯ
אַחֲרֵ֖י
’a·ḥă·rê
– גִּלּֽוּלֵיהֶ֑ם
gil·lū·lê·hem;
וְנָקֹ֙טּוּ֙
wə·nā·qōṭ·ṭū
and they will loathe
בִּפְנֵיהֶ֔ם
bip̄·nê·hem,
אֶל־
’el-
הָֽרָעוֹת֙
hā·rā·‘ō·wṯ
the evils
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
עָשׂ֔וּ
‘ā·śū,
לְכֹ֖ל
lə·ḵōl
in all
. תּוֹעֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·ṯê·hem.

וְיָדְע֖וּ
wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū
כִּֽי־
kî-
אֲנִ֣י
’ă·nî
I [am]
､ יְהוָ֑ה
Yah·weh;
Yahweh ､
לֹ֤א
lō
not
אֶל־
’el-
in
חִנָּם֙
ḥin·nām
דִּבַּ֔רְתִּי
dib·bar·tî,
לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת
la·‘ă·śō·wṯ
לָהֶ֖ם
lā·hem
הָרָעָ֥ה
hā·rā·‘āh
. הַזֹּֽאת׃
haz·zōṯ.

וּרְקַ֤ע

and stamp
､ בְּרַגְלְךָ֙
bə·raḡ·lə·ḵā
､ וֶֽאֱמָר־
we·’ĕ·mār-
and say ､
אָ֔ח
’āḥ,
אֶ֛ל
’el
כָּל־
kāl-
תּוֹעֲב֥וֹת
tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·wṯ
רָע֖וֹת
rā·‘ō·wṯ
of evil
בֵּ֣ית
bêṯ
the house
! יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל
yiś·rā·’êl;
of Israel !
אֲשֶׁ֗ר
’ă·šer,
､ בַּחֶ֛רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
by the sword ､
､ בָּרָעָ֥ב
bā·rā·‘āḇ
by famine ､
וּבַדֶּ֖בֶר
ū·ḇad·de·ḇer
and by pestilence
. יִפֹּֽלוּ׃
yip·pō·lū.

הָרָח֞וֹק
hā·rā·ḥō·wq
– בַּדֶּ֣בֶר
bad·de·ḇer
by the pestilence –
יָמ֗וּת
yā·mūṯ,
וְהַקָּרוֹב֙
wə·haq·qā·rō·wḇ
and who is near
– בַּחֶ֣רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
by the sword –
יִפּ֔וֹל
yip·pō·wl,
וְהַנִּשְׁאָר֙
wə·han·niš·’ār
and he who remains
וְהַנָּצ֔וּר
wə·han·nā·ṣūr,
and is besieged
. בָּרָעָ֖ב
bā·rā·‘āḇ
by the famine .
יָמ֑וּת
yā·mūṯ;
וְכִלֵּיתִ֥י
wə·ḵil·lê·ṯî
thus will I spend
חֲמָתִ֖י
ḥă·mā·ṯî
My fury
. בָּֽם׃
bām.

וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙
wî·ḏa‘·tem
כִּֽי־
kî-
אֲנִ֣י
’ă·nî
I [am]
､ יְהוָ֔ה
Yah·weh,
Yahweh ､
בִּֽהְי֣וֹת
bih·yō·wṯ
חַלְלֵיהֶ֗ם
ḥal·lê·hem,
בְּתוֹךְ֙
bə·ṯō·wḵ
גִּלּ֣וּלֵיהֶ֔ם
gil·lū·lê·hem,
סְבִיב֖וֹת
sə·ḇî·ḇō·wṯ
､ מִזְבְּחֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם
miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·hem;
אֶל֩
’el
on
כָּל־
kāl-
､ גִּבְעָ֨ה
giḇ·‘āh
hill ､
רָמָ֜ה
rā·māh
בְּכֹ֣ל ׀
bə·ḵōl
on all
רָאשֵׁ֣י
rā·šê
the tops
､ הֶהָרִ֗ים
he·hā·rîm,
the mountaintops ､
וְתַ֨חַת
wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ
and under
כָּל־
kāl-
､ עֵ֤ץ
‘êṣ
tree ､
רַֽעֲנָן֙
ra·‘ă·nān
וְתַ֙חַת֙
wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ
and under
כָּל־
kāl-
､ אֵלָ֣ה
’ê·lāh
עֲבֻתָּ֔ה
‘ă·ḇut·tāh,
מְק֗וֹם
mə·qō·wm,
the place
אֲשֶׁ֤ר
’ă·šer
נָֽתְנוּ־
nā·ṯə·nū-
שָׁם֙
šām
רֵ֣יחַ
rê·aḥ
נִיחֹ֔חַ
nî·ḥō·aḥ,
לְכֹ֖ל
lə·ḵōl
to all
. גִּלּוּלֵיהֶֽם׃
gil·lū·lê·hem.

וְנָטִ֤יתִי
wə·nā·ṭî·ṯî
So I will stretch out
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
יָדִי֙
yā·ḏî
My hand
עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם
‘ă·lê·hem,
וְנָתַתִּ֨י
wə·nā·ṯat·tî
and make
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
הָאָ֜רֶץ
hā·’ā·reṣ
the land
､ שְׁמָמָ֤ה
šə·mā·māh
וּמְשַׁמָּה֙
ū·mə·šam·māh
מִמִּדְבַּ֣ר
mim·miḏ·bar
､ דִּבְלָ֔תָה
diḇ·lā·ṯāh,
בְּכֹ֖ל
bə·ḵōl
in all
– מוֹשְׁבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם
mō·wō·šə·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem;
וְיָדְע֖וּ
wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū
כִּֽי־
kî-
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
