'Under the Law' in the Bible

All who sin without having the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

To the Jews I have become like a Jew for the winning of Jews; to men under the law, like one under the law, though I am not under the law myself, to win the men under the law;

But before this faith came, we were kept locked up under the law, in preparation for the faith which was to be unveiled.
