12 Bible Verses about Bad Things

I have said these [things] to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction, but have courage! I have conquered the world."

Now these were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica. {They} accepted the message with all eagerness, examining the scriptures every day [to see] if these [things] were so.

Then he said, "Naked I came out from my mother's womb, and naked I will return there. Yahweh gives, and Yahweh takes. Let Yahweh's name be blessed."

And Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man will be glorified. Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth [and] dies, it remains [by] itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world preserves it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me, and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. "Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, deliver me from this hour'? But for this [reason] I have come to this hour! Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have both glorified [it], and I will glorify [it] again." Now the crowd that stood [there] and heard [it] said {it had thundered}. Others were saying, "An angel has spoken to him!" Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not happened for my sake, but [for] your sake. Now is the judgment of this world! Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out! And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all [people] to myself." (Now he said this to indicate by what sort of death he was going to die.)
