be not deceived, God will not be mocked: for what a man soweth, that shall he also reap:

for whom he before approv'd, he predispos'd to follow the example of his son, who was to conduct them all as their elder brother;

for he hath made us a-new, and form'd us by Christ Jesus to do good works, for which God had before prepared us, that we might live in them.

We know too, that all things co-operate for the good of those who love God, who, pursuant to his purpose, has now called them:

but we explain that mysterious plan of divine wisdom, which God had contriv'd before the ages, for our glory: which none of the rulers of this age understood: for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. but, as it is written, "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entred into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

none of you might be stagger'd by these persecutions: for you know that we are destin'd to suffer.
