I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.
confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the kingdom of God.
And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also, knowing that afflictions work out patience,
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
rejoicing in hope, patient in affliction, steadfastly continuing in prayer,
Then I think this is good, because of the present necessity; that it is good for a man to be so.
My boldness of speech is great toward you; my glorying on your behalf is much. I have been filled with comfort, I am overflowing with joy on all our trouble.
For truly, when we were with you, we told you before that we were going to suffer affliction, as it also happened, even you know.
then, my brothers, we were comforted over you, through your faith, even in all our affliction and needs;
so much so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure.
