One of the Pharisees asked him to dinner, and entering the house of the Pharisee he reclined at table.

I passed on to you what I received from the Lord himself, namely, that on the night he was betrayed the Lord Jesus took a loaf, and after thanking God he broke it, saying, 'This means my body broken for you; do this in memory of me.'

"No, sir," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table."

She answered him, "No, sir, but under the table the dogs do pick up the children's crumbs."

and fain to eat up the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. (The very dogs used to come and lick his ulcers.)

so, even as my Father has assigned me royal power, I assign you the right of eating and drinking at my table in my Realm and of sitting on thrones to rule the twelve tribes of Israel.

"The Realm of heaven," he said, "may be compared to a king who gave a marriage-banquet in honour of his son. He sent his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they would not come.

Hearing this, one of his fellow guests said to him, "Blessed is he who feasts in the Realm of God!"

He also told a parable to the guests, when he observed how they picked out the best places.

The cup of blessing, which we bless, is that not participating in the blood of Christ? The bread we break, is that not participating in the body of Christ? Do I imply, you ask, that 'food offered to an idol has any meaning, or that an idol itself means any thing'? No, what I imply is that anything people sacrifice is sacrificed to daemons, not to God. And I do not want you to participate in daemons!

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of daemons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and also of the table of daemons.
