Balances of deceit are an abomination to Jehovah, And a perfect weight is His delight.

Hear this, ye who are swallowing up the needy, To cause to cease the poor of the land, Saying, When doth the new moon pass, And we sell ground corn? And the sabbath, and we open out pure corn? To make little the ephah, And to make great the shekel, And to use perversely balances of deceit.

From the abundance of thy iniquity, By the perversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth fire from thy midst, It hath devoured thee, And I make thee become ashes on the earth, Before the eyes of all beholding thee.

Canaan! in his hand are balances of deceit! To oppress he hath loved.

Are there yet in the house of the wicked Treasures of wickedness, And the abhorred scanty ephah? Do I reckon it pure with balances of wickedness? And with a bag of deceitful stones?
