'Anger' in the Bible

ל LamedIs this nothing to you, all you who pass by?Look and see!Is there any pain like mine,which was dealt out to me,which the Lord made me sufferon the day of His burning anger?

How the Lord has overshadowedDaughter Zion with His anger!He has thrown down Israel’s gloryfrom heaven to earth.He has abandoned His footstoolin the day of His anger.

ג GimelHe has cut off every horn of Israelin His burning angerand withdrawn His right handin the presence of the enemy.He has blazed against Jacob like a flaming firethat consumes everything.

ו VavHe has done violence to His templeas if it were a garden booth,destroying His place of meeting.The Lord has abolishedappointed festivals and Sabbaths in Zion.He has despised king and priestin His fierce anger.

שׁ ShinBoth young and oldare lying on the ground in the streets.My young men and womenhave fallen by the sword.You have killed them in the day of Your anger,slaughtering without compassion.

ת TavYou summoned my attackers on every side,as if for an appointed festival day;on the day of the Lord’s angerno one escaped or survived.My enemy has destroyedthose I nurtured and reared.

ס SamekYou have covered Yourself in anger and pursued us;You have killed without compassion.

You will pursue them in anger and destroy themunder Your heavens.

כ KafThe Lord has exhausted His wrath,poured out His burning anger;He has ignited a fire in Zion,and it has consumed her foundations.
