'Charge' in the Bible
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge;
if any one be free from all charge against him, husband of one wife, having believing children not accused of excess or unruly.
For the overseer must be free from all charge against him as God's steward; not headstrong, not passionate, not disorderly through wine, not a striker, not seeking gain by base means;
these things be speaking, and exhorting, and convicting, with all charge; let no one despise thee!
Therefore [on the basis of these facts], though I have enough confidence in Christ to order you to do what is appropriate,
And if he has wronged you in any way, or owes you anything, charge that to my account.
but the Messiah was faithful as the Son in charge of God's household, and we are his household if we hold on to our courage and the hope in which we rejoice.
Therefore, those who are ill-treated and suffer in accordance with the will of God must [continue to] do right and commit their souls [for safe-keeping] to the faithful Creator.
nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock.
however, angels, who are greater in might and power, do not bring a slanderous charge against them before the Lord.
And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should also [unselfishly] love his brother and seek the best for him.
Now I ask you, lady, not as if I were writing to you a new commandment, but [simply reminding you of] the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love and unselfishly seek the best for one another.
I wrote a letter to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be in charge, will not recognize our authority.
But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me].
Another angel, who was in charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to the angel who had the sharp sickle, "Use your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes off the vine of the earth, because its grapes are now ripe."
Then I heard the angel in charge of the water say, "You are just. You are the one who is and who was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things.
He also said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water free of charge from the spring of the water of life.
It has a wall, massive and high, with twelve large gates, and in charge of the gates were twelve angels. And overhead, above the gates, names were inscribed which are those of the twelve tribes of the descendants of Israel.
And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let the one who hears say: "Come!" And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
