'Died' in the Bible

Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.

These descendants from the giants in Gath died at the hands of David and his servants.

So the Lord sent a plague on Israel, and 70,000 Israelite men died.

David said, "My son Solomon is just an inexperienced young man, and the temple to be built for the Lord must be especially magnificent so it will become famous and be considered splendid by all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for its construction." So David made extensive preparations before he died.

And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.

And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Then Solomon died, as had his ancestors, and his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.

Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

Later, Rehoboam died, as had his ancestors, and his son Abijah became king to replace him.

During the eighteenth year of the reign of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.

Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.

Asa and his army pursued the Ethiopians as far as Gerar. So many Ethiopians died that their army could not recover, because it had been shattered in the LORD's presence and in the presence of his army. The Israelis carried off a lot of plunder, too.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.

And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.

As soon as Ahaziah's mother Athaliah learned that her son had died, she set out to destroy the entire royal family of Judah.

But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.

However, after Jehoiada died, the rulers of Judah came and paid homage to the king. Then the king listened to them,

King Uzziah remained a leper until the day he died. Because he was a leper, he lived in a separate residence and remained disqualified to enter the LORD's Temple. His son Jotham served in the royal palace, judging the people of the land.

Uzziah died, as had his ancestors, and they buried him alongside his ancestors in a grave in a field that belonged to the kings, because they said, "He was a leper." Uzziah's son Jotham became king to replace him.

Then Jotham died, as had his fathers, and he was buried in the City of David. His son Ahaz became king in his place.

So Ahaz died, as had his ancestors, and he was buried in the city of Jerusalem, but they didn't bury him among the tombs of the kings of Israel. Ahaz's son Hezekiah reigned in his place.

Look, our fathers died violently and our sons, daughters, and wives were carried off because of this.

Hezekiah died, as had his fathers, and they buried him in the upper part of the tombs of the descendants of David. All of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. But his son Manasseh reigned in his place.

So Manasseh died, as had his ancestors, and they buried him in his own palace while his son Amon became king in his place.

His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

Mordecai was the legal guardian of his cousin Hadassah (that is, Esther), because she didn’t have a father or mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was extremely good-looking. When her father and mother died, Mordecai had adopted her as his own daughter.

Suddenly a powerful wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on the young people so that they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you!”

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

Are they ashamed because they have done such disgusting things? No, they are not at all ashamed! They do not even know how to blush! So they will die just like others have died. They will be brought to ruin when I punish them, says the Lord.

And died have great and small in this land, They are not buried, and none lament for them, Nor doth any cut himself, nor become bald for them.

So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

You'll be broken, and you'll lie down with the uncircumcised who died violently.

The nations will also learn that because of Israel's sin the house of Israel went into captivity, since they were unfaithful in their behavior toward me. As a result, I hid my presence from them, turned them over to the control of their enemies, and they died by violence.

When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

And all were weeping and lamenting her. But he said, Do not weep, for she has not died, but sleeps.

When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found there alone. And they kept silent, and told no one at that time any of the things which they had seen [concerning the divine manifestation].
