'End' in the Bible
The king assigned them daily provisions from the royal food and from the wine that he drank. They were to be trained for three years, and at the end of that time they were to serve in the king’s court.
At the end of 10 days they looked better and healthier than all the young men who were eating the king’s food.
At the end of the time that the king had said to present them, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.
“In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, and this kingdom will not be left to another people. It will crush all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself endure forever.
At the end of 12 months, as he was walking on the roof of the royal palace in Babylon,
But at the end of those days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity returned to me. Then I praised the Most High and honored and glorified Him who lives forever:For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,and His kingdom is from generation to generation.
This is the interpretation of the message:MENE means that God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end.
I issue a decree that in all my royal dominion, people must tremble in fear before the God of Daniel:For He is the living God,and He endures forever;His kingdom will never be destroyed,and His dominion has no end.
“This is the end of the interpretation. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts terrified me greatly, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.”
So he approached where I was standing; when he came near, I was terrified and fell facedown. “Son of man,” he said to me, “understand that the vision refers to the time of the end.”
and said, “I am here to tell you what will happen at the conclusion of the time of wrath, because it refers to the appointed time of the end.
Near the end of their kingdoms,when the rebels have reachedthe full measure of their sin,an insolent king, skilled in intrigue,will come to the throne.
Seventy weeks are decreedabout your people and your holy city—to bring the rebellion to an end,to put a stop to sin,to wipe away iniquity,to bring in everlasting righteousness,to seal up vision and prophecy,and to anoint the most holy place.
After those 62 weeksthe Messiah will be cut offand will have nothing.The people of the coming princewill destroy the city and the sanctuary.The end will come with a flood,and until the end there will be war;desolations are decreed.
Then he will turn his attention to the coasts and islands and capture many. But a commander will put an end to his taunting; instead, he will turn his taunts against him.
The two kings, whose hearts are bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table but to no avail, for still the end will come at the appointed time.
Some of the wise will fall so that they may be refined, purified, and cleansed until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
“At the time of the end, the king of the South will engage him in battle, but the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, horsemen, and many ships. He will invade countries and sweep through them like a flood.
He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
“But you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam about, and knowledge will increase.”
One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the end of these extraordinary things?”
He said, “Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret and sealed until the time of the end.
But as for you, go on your way to the end; you will rest, then rise to your destiny at the end of the days.”
