“And I smashed the jaws of the wickedAnd snatched the prey from his teeth.
“Who can penetrate or strip off his outer armor?Who can come to his jaws with a double bridle?
“Who can open the doors (jaws) of his face?Around his [open jaws and] teeth there is terror.
My strength is dried up like a fragment of clay pottery;And my [dry] tongue clings to my jaws;And You have laid me in the dust of death.
His breath is like an overflowing river,Which reaches to the neck,To sift the nations back and forth in a sieve [of disaster],And to put in the jaws of the peoples the bridle which leads to ruin.
“I will put hooks in your jawsAnd [I will] make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales.And I will pull you up from the midst of your rivers,And all the fish of your rivers will stick to your scales.
I will turn you around and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them magnificently clothed in full armor, a great horde with buckler (small shield) and [large] shield, all of them wielding swords;
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened and empowered me, so that through me the [gospel] message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear it; and I was rescued from the mouth of the lion.
