The Israelites served Eglon king of Moab 18 years.
Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and He raised up Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed Benjaminite, as a deliverer for them. The Israelites sent him to Eglon king of Moab with tribute money.

The bramble said to the trees,“If you really are anointing meas king over you, come and find refuge in my shade. But if not,may fire come out from the brambleand consume the cedars of Lebanon.”
“Now if you have acted faithfully and honestly in making Abimelech king, if you have done well by Jerubbaal and his family, and if you have rewarded him appropriately for what he did—

Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites, saying, “What do you have against me that you have come to fight against me in my land?”
