'Man' in the Bible
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
Don’t envy a violent manor choose any of his ways;
Indeed, a perverse man is utterly disgusting to the LORD, but he takes the upright into his confidence.
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
The iniquities done by a wicked man will trap him,And he will be held with the cords of his sin.
Go to the ant, you lazy man! Observe its ways and become wise.
How long will you lie down, lazy man? When will you get up from your sleep?
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
Upon {such a man}, suddenly shall his calamity come; in a moment he will be damaged and there is no healing.
For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
Can a man walk on burning coalswithout scorching his feet?
A man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom, whoever does it destroys his own life.
For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
For the man is not in his house, He hath gone on a long journey.
The simple man goes after her, like an ox going to its death, like a roe pulled by a cord;
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Jehovah suffereth not the soul of the righteous man to famish; but he repelleth the craving of the wicked.
Blessings are upon the head of a righteous man; but the mouth of the wicked covereth violence.
The memory of the righteous man shall be blessed; but the name of the wicked shall rot.
The wise-hearted man will let himself be ruled, but the man whose talk is foolish will have a fall.
He who makes signs with his eyes is a cause of trouble, but he who makes a man see his errors is a cause of peace.
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
In the lips of an intelligent man wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Knowledge is stored up by the wise, but the mouth of the foolish man is a destruction which is near.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
The labour of a righteous man tendeth to life; the revenue of a wicked man, to sin.
Hate is covered up by the lips of the upright man, but he who lets out evil about another is foolish.
The tongue of the righteous man is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth.
The lips of a righteous man feed many; but fools die for want of understanding.
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
The fear of a wicked man, it shall come upon him; but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
When the storm-wind is past, the sinner is seen no longer, but the upright man is safe for ever.
The hope of the upright man will give joy, but the waiting of the evil-doer will have its end in sorrow.
The way of Jehovah is strength to the perfect man, but destruction to the workers of iniquity.
The righteous man shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land.
The mouth of a righteous man putteth forth wisdom; but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
The lips of a righteous man know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is frowardness.
Wealth is of no profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness keeps a man safe from death.
The righteousness of the good man will make his way straight, but the sin of the evil-doer will be the cause of his fall.
When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
The upright man is taken out of trouble, and in his place comes the sinner.
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
When things go well for the upright man, all the town is glad; at the death of sinners, there are cries of joy.
By the blessing of the upright man the town is made great, but it is overturned by the mouth of the evil-doer.
He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
He who goes about talking of others makes secrets public, but the true-hearted man keeps things covered.
He who makes himself responsible for a strange man will undergo much loss; but the hater of such undertakings will be safe.
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
The wicked man earns an empty wage,but the one who sows righteousness, a true reward.
Hand for hand! an evil man shall not be held innocent; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
The desire of the upright man is only for good, but wrath is waiting for the evil-doer.
A man may give freely, and still his wealth will be increased; and another may keep back more than is right, but only comes to be in need.
The generous man will be prosperous,And he who waters will himself be watered.
The people curse him who holds back grain [when the public needs it],But a blessing [from God and man] is upon the head of him who sells it.
He who puts his faith in wealth will come to nothing; but the upright man will be full of growth like the green leaf.
If the upright man is rewarded on earth, how much more the evil-doer and the sinner!
A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
An evil man is trapped by his rebellious speech,but a righteous one escapes from trouble.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
The lifestyle of the fool is right in his own opinion, but wise is the man who listens to advice.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
There shall no evil happen to a righteous man; but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
A righteous man is careful in dealing with his neighbor,but the ways of the wicked lead them astray.
The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
One man pretends to be rich but has nothing;another pretends to be poor but has great wealth.
Riches are a ransom for a man’s life,but a poor man hears no threat.
There is a glad dawn for the upright man, but the light of the sinner will be put out.
A vain man through pride causeth debate, And with the counselled is wisdom.
The teaching of the wise man is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.
Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
A man taking false news is a cause of trouble, but he who gives news rightly makes things well.
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
A righteous man eats until he is satisfied,but the stomach of the wicked is empty. >
In the mouth of the foolish man is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will keep them safe.
The hater of authority, searching for wisdom, does not get it; but knowledge comes readily to the open-minded man.
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
The wisdom of the man of good sense makes his way clear; but the unwise behaviour of the foolish is deceit.
In the tents of those hating authority there is error, but in the house of the upright man there is grace.
The house of the sinner will be overturned, but the tent of the upright man will do well.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
