'Prisoner' in the Bible
Let the groaning of the prisoner come before You;According to the greatness of Your power preserve those who are doomed to die.
To hear the groaning of the prisoner,To set free those who were doomed to death,
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted.
At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.
Now at the feast he used to release for them any one prisoner whom they requested.
So he took him and led him to the commander and *said, “Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to lead this young man to you since he has something to tell you.”
While they were spending many days there, Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying, “There is a man who was left as a prisoner by Felix;
For it seems absurd to me in sending a prisoner, not to indicate also the charges against him.”
After three days Paul called together those who were the leading men of the Jews, and when they came together, he began saying to them, “Brethren, though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—
Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother,To Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker,
yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you—since I am such a person as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
